I've contemplating about getting an AP. One of the things I wanted to ask is historically, for the three weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas, have AP rates offered better discounts than the codes typically listed at mousesavers.com?

Thanks!

Historically, there have NOT been AP rates offered in October, November and December. None at all. That changed in 2001. So last year and this year are the only times in recent history that AP rates have been offered during the time you mentioned. Instead, Disney offered discounted rooms as part of a Holiday package. When the economy/travel sufficiently recovers, I believe they will return to this pattern. JMHO. YMMV.

IIRC, AP rates and the code discount rates have been within a few dollars of each other. As long as both are offered, my advice is to buy an AP only if it is the best admission value for your family. Since you do not need to have an AP before you book an AP-discounted room, it makes sense to book the room and then buy the AP.

HTH. I know it is probably more information than you were looking for - you might also find this information (from MouseSavers) on historical trends helpful:
