First of all let me say I'm thrilled to be getting ANY discount for Easter week. I'm staying at AKL with BDP code. Does anyone think they will come out with AP rates that might make late March even cheaper? I really think these codes are a fantastic deal but with a few rooms booked for the week, even a few dollars more off could really add up.

I have been wondering about this as well. It is discouraging when a room only code for "anyone" is released before AP rates.

I guess WDW figures the AP holders are coming back, regardless of what is offered. They may be able to attract other guests by offering a code available to anyone. I understand the marketing aspect, but still wish they would offer AP rates first:D

Agree with you both -- about the being thrilled to have gotten BDP for a Spring Break trip and also that WDW finance folks figured out that AP discounts should come out after BDP to maximize revenue.

I am thinking that there WILL be AP rates offered for Easter Week/Spring Break (just my gut feeling).

Based on what others have posted about Jan/Feb., am expecting the AP rates will only be a small savings -- like $10-$15/night -- over BDP.

We are not AP holders, so unless the savings are more substantial, I'll just stick with BDP and continue to be so happy! We were going to go regardless of discounts (did get AAA rate before BDP came out, but that was peanuts -- although, again, better than nada):bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I am a bit new at this....

but what does BDP mean? What kind of discount is it? Any bit of savings can help....

We booked for Spring break using the BDP-general, room only code for the BC-CL and saved about 29%. Worth asking-you might get lucky depending on when you are going.

Mom23guys2,
We too will be at AKL for Spring Break! We have BDP, but are hoping for AP too. I really think that they will be offered. The CM's tell me to keep checking. I'm sure keeping my eye out. I don't care if the discount is only $15 less a night---it's still something!

Good luck to all of us :)

DISNEYFAN,
Forgot to answer your question. Disney issues discounts that they name with different "codes." BDP is a code you can use to get a discounted rate on resort rooms. BDP is good through sometime in April--can't remember exactly. New codes are often announced for new dates. Just call CRO and ask if they have a discount code for your dates. They only issue a certain number of rooms for each code, so I don't know what will be left, but I'd guess you could get something! Worth a try!

Thanks buckeye...

I am also going in April...want to stay longer if the rates are less...thanks for the info....I will give it a try!!

I believe the code runs to April 16, 2005. It is my understanding that whatever the rate is on the first day of check in applies to your entire stay even if it crosses over to another season, rate expires etc.

Thanks mom_rules....

I am going to call this weekend....

This board is SO great! This is so much info that you would never be told!! I have reccomended this site to so many others!!

Just a note of advice... I originally booked a room for a week using the AP code, figuring I'd just buy an AP. But when I worked it out, the BDP code was actually cheaper because I saved $100 or so per ticket just buying a park-hopper pass. So even though the BDP was $15 more for the room, if you aren't already an AP holder and you don't plan on being at the parks for more than 5 days, you may want to stick with BDP.

Just thought that would help...:Pinkbounc

I was wondering that same thing myself. Thanks.

Exactly, mega13, that's what I was trying to say!!

We're either going to buy 4 day park hoppers -- about $210 incl.tax
or Annual Pass -- about $405 incl. tax.

So that's nearly 200 dollars more.

We currently have the room discount code BDP and are staying 6 nights.

So, unless the AP code is available and saves us $200/6 per night ($35 or so), we'll happily pass on the AP code and make it available to someone who can see some savings!:sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:
