AP Rates for June/July 2011

Just called universal to see if there were any AP discounts for July. The person said there are no AP discounts from June 10th to August 20th. But if I could come maybe the 21st of August she could hep me out.

I had a feeling this was going to happen. They are very busy, so the bigger discounts stopped. :sad1:

gulp, looks like i won't be working in visiting U for end of July, even the plat credit doesn't make it fit my budget

portofino standard room approx $390:eek:, RP approx $50 less

haven't been following the rate thread, not sure if any AAA rates popping up:confused3

we've been able to grab very reasonable rates early Dec in the past, currently portofino approx $310

oh well, U isn' going anywhere lol, maybe after the WWOHP crowds thin the rates will moderate

We're bummed. I guess we'll just stay offsite this year and get there early. No Uni Express, so we'll probably spend more time in lines. I can get 5 nights at a nice hotel for less than the price of two at RPR. I love RPR, but it's a budget buster this year unless those AP rates come out.

Mine are for June 7-11. Guess they are carrying the rate through - no notice that my rate changes mid-way through.
awesome!! They dont always do that I dont think?

The rates are known through 6/9 but not past that.
Phew! I snuck in!

Can I ask what the AP rates are for early June? Trying to get an idea of what the discount for end of June might be.
Thanks.
I got a great AP rate for RPR $154 for June 9th, but that's right before the summer rates kick in. And as stated further in this thread, it's doubtful you will get a price like that over the summer..

Unfortunately, if the parks and hotels are packed without reducing rates, they won't reduce them. It is simple supply and demand.
Exactly....

Does anyone know if AAA rates are good over the summer months... seems if UO AP holders should get at least what AAA gives... eh?

Glad i booked when i did, got RPR july 16th till 30Th for $188 midweek and $202 weekends.seems a bargain now when i look at prices.

I got 242 instead of 269 late June at Royal Pacific

This is a prime example why you book as far out as possible, then rebook over the phone if the rate changes. The people considering staying offsite, I would either stay less nights onsite or split the stay, onsite is so worth it. I could never go without staying onsite.

I'm one of the people considering staying offsite. I've stayed onsite many times and I am aware of what I am giving up. However, $269/night is way too much for me. It's not a matter of booking in advance. The rate has been $269/night since I started checking last year. I'm used to paying $119-150/night with my AP rate. We are in Florida three weeks and I need to make my money s-t-r-e-t-c-h. I cannot pay twice as much as what I budgeted. If there are no AP rates, I can stay off site much cheaper and still enjoy it. Currently I have a studio at HGVC for $89/night. I am staying 5 nights for less than two nights at RPR would cost. We have done Universal and IOA a number of times and our main reason for going this summer is to go back to WWOHP. We spent 5 days there last summer (with an APH rate) and did it all. (Not to mention the year before that and the year before that and the year before that, LOL). We will just spend a little less time at USO this year, which is fine. It will give me some time to go to Sea World and Busch Gardens too since we have AP's there also and it's been a while since we have been. (We go to San Diego Sea World all the time.)

anybody know how to check AAA rates for July? I tried online but nothing came up. I really wanted to try a night or 2 on site but 269 is crazy. Looks like I'm staying at the Hampton again. :lovestruc

Guess we won't be visiting US/IOA this summer. We were hoping for an APH discount for Aug. 13/14 and then move to our DVC resort (BLT) for 5 nights. I did book something for that weekend using my DVC points just in case the US/IOA deal didn't work out. Guess I'm glad I did now. I was going to treat the family to a 2 day visit to US/IOA before moving over to WDW. Guess we'll save money and do an all Disney trip in August. Since we have APs and have a 1 bedroom booked, it will be cheaper.

Well that is very disappointing news about the AP rates. As I said previously, we were planning to go and stay June 10 - 13. As we were arriving the day after the AP rate cut off for spring, I was keeping a close eye for when the discounts would come out - they said mid-April to me on the phone and now...nothing.

It is almost $100 more per night without the AP rate. Looks like we would have saved a lot more money if we booked our arrival for just a few days earlier (but we wanted to avoid the Memorial Day weekend crowds end of May). We even pulled the kids out of school early to avoid this problem of high $$ and crowds (school doesn't finish until June 30). Instead, our arrive date is when the rates shoot up. I guess that is when they expect it to get busier because apparently American kids get out of school earlier than Canadians do.

Anyway, I went ahead and booked through our AAA rate, which is only 10% off (or $15 off the rack rate). I guess that is better than nothing, since if it is going to be so busy, we are really going to need that FOTL access more than ever.

Probably everyone is thinking like us. If only everyone would just cancel their June bookings, maybe, just maybe, they'd release those rates! lol

glad to hear there is a AAA rate...might try and get that for one or two nights. Then I can move to the Hampton down the road

Just called to see if AP rates were out for my dates 8/14-17 and she said they have not released rates prior to 8/21.

We are looking for 3 nights from 8/31 - this would fit well with us. Are you saying this is what has happened in the past or are the rates beyond 8/21 out as I can't see any for our dates yet. We are hoping that the parks will be very quiet at the very end August and into early September - we can then use our AP's for another longer trip before they expire next year. We are staying 11 nights at Disney first followed by 3 at Universal - next year we are thinking similar dates with maybe Disney last or pushing our dates back a few days and still doin Disney first

the rates for your dates are out. You might not have them online because they give them out to a limited number of rooms. If you can't find them online just call US and see if they can help you out.

Of all the trips we have taken 90% are in June and i have never ever seen discounts for June or July, which stinks.

i seem to recall that mid to late august typically (pre WWOHP, didn't follow it last year) had great rate offers that didn't roll out until june/july:confused:. Not sure if it would work with your banking window for points but might want to keep an eye on it.:wizard:

This is untrue, unless you tried booking when they were all taken. This is the first year that I know of that there is no AP or FL discount. We have gone the past 3 summers for a week over July 4th weekend. This year we decided to take a week over Memorial Day instead and I'm now sure glad.

I checked AAA website and no discount for on site either...ARRRGGGGG

We have been staying onsite the last 6 years, usually end of June & July, and always get discountshave has Stay More triple A & AP discounts. Last July i paid $151 a night
