What kind of AP rates prices can expect for the last week in April? What were some of the discounts last year? How is the weather that time of year. Looking to stay at a deluxe. Thanks

This does not exactly pertain to you situation but here is what I know.

Last year we went for Easter Break which I believe was mid-April. If I recall correctly, AP codes came out either day after Christmas or Day after New Years can't remember which. Codes were available at least for the moderates (know this because that is where we stayed) I believe there were rates for AKL also don't know about the others. Hopes this helps somewhat until someone else has a better answer. :D

We will be going the end of next April into May using the AP discount, and I heard the rates for that time will not be out until late next Jan.or beginning of Feb. But I will start watching and calling earlier I'm sure.
As far as the weather goes, I have been told by many that it is really great that time of year. Highs usually range in the low to mid 80's with no uncomfortable humidity. There is not much rain at that time of year either. I was there back in 2000 in the beginning of May and it was wonderful weather. We were there a week and it rained for a few minutes one afternoon (just a drizzle), that was it the entire week.
Hope this helps:)

All I can say is if you see them you better move quickly. With the kick off of the 50th anniversary of DL being celebrated at ALL disney parks, May 5th is the kick off and when I booked my room at Pop Century at a discount back in July, there was slim pickings then. With all of the celebartion and press, the week of April 30 to May 7th will be an extremely busy week. It kicks off the openning of Soaring and the Stunt show too.

I'm now a bit confused...I thought most of the events will be starting on May 5th? So why is it going to be "extremely" busy from April 30th thru May 7th. Please explain if i might have missed something. I really want to try and avoid "extreme" crowds, and I thought by going April 24th thru May 4th I would be far enough away from spring breaks and leaving before all the 50th anniversary events take place. Gulp! Did I make a mistake?

I'm in the same boat as you!! I thought it would just be a little busy around the 5th since WDW isn't doing that much for the DL 50th. If Stunt and Soarin' open, maybe that will be good news...more people in line for those and less people in line for the others? Wishful thinking I know. We are going Apr 28 - May 7 and hope for a time like last year when we got married there. Great weather, and only crowds on one day.

Well, at first I started to panic, but then I thought about it and I realized it just doesn't seem reasonable that the crowds would start a week or more away from the 5th when the 50th celebration will begin. I even began to wonder if I should change dates to the beginning of March. I guess I will stick to my initial ressies and hope for the best. I wonder also if there's any way to tell in advance if it's going to be real busy then?
We're sure to have a great time no matter what! I just can't wait till I can post that "double digit dance" and then the "Single digit dance"!!! :wave2:
