AP rates for CR 14th floor Concierge?

14th floor used to be off-limits to all discounts. However, I think they are "loosing up" a bit. I got the 5 for 7 deal for our Sept stay. Bambi also got a discount, I don't remember which one.

So, I'd sure ask. You may be pleasantly suprised!

Good luck! It's a wonderful place to stay.

AAA was actually available for many dates on the 14th floor that I checked for 2005. It was pretty healthy too -- 18 percent pretty much across the board except in peak.

AAA was avail for part of our time as well but they said it was for the handicap room so we did not take it. We did get a little discount for the 12th floor where we had to put my daughter and husband for the last 2 nights since the 14th floor was sold out.

If you don't mind my asking, what was your hesitation on the accessible room? We're going in '05; I assume it doesn't have a bathtub, which would be a little tough for us, but is there anything else you're aware of? On the plus side, it is on the MK side.

Did they tell you they were giving it to you when you reserved or when you checked in? There are so few standard rooms on the 14th floor, that it appears the odds of getting it are pretty good, particularly if you've requested 2 queen side beds.

I've already booked the room myself. Does that mean I can't get an AAA discount now? Do they have to do it for me to get a discount?

you can call back and request the aaa discount. you just need to make sure you have your aaa card when you check in or they will change your rate to full price. aaa discounts are limited like ap's but it's worth a shot!! any discount is better than no discount.

That is correct - the room does not have a tub that we saw and it has a king bed that we cannot use. The bathroom was really large with not your usual sink area. I would guess due to wheelchair access. I would stay in the room myself - NO QUESTION about it - hands down. Nothing bothered me.

I do not know why they would say that we would get that room when all along they always tell you they can NEVER guarantee any room. But my DH did not want to take any chances as the room that my daughter had that year would not have worked for us and after waiting all year for our dream vacation he just did not want to take a chance.

I think if he had called back and gotten a different CM the story would be different yet again. But he already makes calling disney a part time job just to get what we want. And in addition I think he was just so shocked that they OFFERED him the discount he did not know what to do.

We have stayed at the GF RPC and have always gotten a discount and that room is cheaper than the 14th floor CT so we figured why pay more? But last year we decided to go back to the CT and see how the concierge's really compare.

Yep! I actually got TWO ROOMS, code which is 2 queens, with the AP Discount for August 2004.

And to make it sweeter, I was bumped up to the Presidential Suite!:teeth:

Even though there are FIVE rooms on this floor that aren't sold as suites, they are OFTEN taken as "bedroom add-on's".

If you get one, even a suite...jump on the opportunity!

As for discounts on the suites....none.

HTH!

We all used to think they were "off limits" for discounts!

Imagine pure joy! First, I got TWO rooms PLUS they were both AP discounted!
How many times does that happen?

I'm calling everyday to get a suite on the 14th floor for the January marathon, the CR's CL is THAT wonderful! Most exclusive concierge on property.::yes::

Bambi -- if CRO tells you they have you in a CW room, does that mean you won't get the CWH? In other words, do they book CWH separately.

We really wanted the MK side. It looks as though our chances with the CW are 50/50.

We are starting our Decmber trip with one night on the Contemporary's 14th floor. We boooked a king bed room on an AP discount. It was the only AP rate room available at the CR for that night when I called.

If you have a CW room booked, then you'll have one of the two rooms facing the MK that have a king bed.
The CYH room is a handicap access. room that also faces the MK.

So, you'll be facing the MK! 100%!

CY, two queens, have a 50-50 chance of MK view.

Hope this helps!

WDWHound...way to go! ENJOY your CR CL experience!:wave2:
