AP Rates for August!

Do the AP rates apply to the free dining packages? I haven't renewed my AP yet but was thinking about it. The free dining packages are such a good deal so I wouldn't pick one over the other but I am curious.

You can get free dining OR the discounted AP rate, not both. :) For some people the AP rates are a better deal, while for others the free dining is. Do the math and see what works best for your family.

Getting, I wanted to make a ressie, but, figured I wouldn't be able to go, after all, it IS hurricane Season, and I am going in Nov. :guilty: So, I decided no.........than a very strange thing happened....I was making my omelet, and when 3 bubbles came up in the shape of a Mickey head, I KNEW I HAD TO GO!!! :rotfl: So, I checked air fare for SPIRIT and the rate was good,($102.10 RT) than I called Reservations and got the dates I wanted for POP Century!!! $82.50 a night what a bargain! :Pinkbounc IF no Hurricanes are looming I am THERE! Thanks a LOT everyone, oh, and the Eggs too! ;)

Did anyone get an AP rate at the family suites at ASMu? Just wondering what to expect for our October trip.

Thanks - the free dining is a way better deal for us. We are staying at POP and only paid $79 for the room plus all of us get free dining. I am glad I didn't renew my AP this year. The discounts just aren't there anymore. It is a shame they aren't giving their loyal customers betters deals than the general public.

I really do not see where that is the case. For some the Dining Plan is a better deal and anyone can take advantage of that.

As to the Annual Pass, it is a great deal on ticket admission. Where else can you get into a major attraction 365 times for that price? That comes to $1.21 per day. :Pinkbounc

And get free parking to all the parks. Discounts on DQ,TL, and BB. 25% off Night of Joy, MNSSHP and MVMCP,50% off minature golf, savings at AMC theater, savings on the purchase of the DDE, which will save you a lot on dining. Even without the DDE card; 30 restaurants offer discounts to AP holders, 10 stores in DD offer merchandize discounts, 15% off Disney Tours, Savings on Sports and Recreation and Spas and even savings on Alamo Car Rental.

Anyone that bought an AP for guaranteed room discounts year round at a certain savings, did not plan wisely. Disney has been very clear about what is offered to AP holders concerning room discounts. A limited number of Passholder rates may be offered periodically at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels and select Disney Vacation Club Resorts

Enjoy your free dining, its a great offer.

I can understand how it is good still for some who live near Florida and drive but for us, living in MD we do not drive there, we fly and it is only 1-2x a year. We never rent a car so free parking and rental car discounts do not apply to us. The merchandise does but it still isn't a deal breaker. Also since we have had free dining the past 2 times the restaurant discounts don't apply either. We wanted to use it for MNSSHP passes but the AP dates weren't when we were there so we didn't get any discount for those last year either. Believe me, the AP pass used to be worth it, even without discounts on the rooms but these packages are just much better for us. To each is their own though...

I don't think they are included. I had time to play today and did a variety of dates for A/S Music and could never get the suites to come up as an option. Usually once you get a choice, at the bottom it will show you the other room types available. I did day by day, avoiding the weekends looking for odd slower days and nothing. So I have to say, it's pretty certain that there was no discount on the suites. I do know that the suites were also not included in the free dining package deal either. I think it will be a long time before we see discounts on the value suites....at least until they make some more. They seem to be pretty popular and folks are willing to pay full price for them. Even at full price, I still think that are a great option...especially because of the kitchnette.

Wow, I didn't realize the savings were that substantial. We are going in Sept. and are doing the free dining, but I was wondering if it would be worth it to buy the annual pass for a trip again next year, but within one year? We plan to do mini-golf and a day at the spa, and some of the other services you mentioned. Is possible to buy only a one day myw ticket with our package and have one person in our party buy the ap for some of these perks and to possibly save on a future trip?
