AP Rates are OUT!!

 I just saved $50 a night on my POFQ room ~ 2/8-2/11 (that's a Fri - Sun) so there are discounts on weekends

I just got a preferred room at POP -- $61 for weeknights and $81 for weekends. I'm happy - we're staying 10 nights, and it saved me almost $300 off rack rate!!! :)

Well *I* am happy!!! Went from rack rate, then AAA rate, and now this AP rate. I am saving a significant amount!! DD18 and I don't really CARE which resort we stay at (well....it needed to be deluxe). We now have a studio at OKW for 12-19 Jan for $149 per night. There is not a difference in the rates for the weekend/holiday. Works well for us!

Our stay in 2/10-2/17 POFQ. I had AAA discount booked.
I was told that if I applied the code to the first 4 nights, I'd have to pay rack for the last 3! They wouldn't let me keep my AAA discount for those. It came out to more than what I had with AAA for the entire stay.

I couldn't split the stay and rebook since the resort was full! So I guess I'll just have to wait for the next round of AP dates to be released and see what happens! Anyone else have the same problem today?:sad2:

The AP rate for the CR Tower MK View was $360 per night and for Club Level at the GF was $615. The AAA was much cheaper for both, so we'll stick with AAA.

I called this afternoon and it dropped $20.00 from AAA rate. We're staying at POP and the Fri. & Mon. got 61.00 night and Sat.& Sun. are 81.00 night. The total came to 319.48 including. This is for preferred location! The AAA rate was 75.20 each night. I'll take the 20. help pay for rental car.

Has anyone gotten an AP discount at CR? Do they even have standard rooms there? If you got an AP discount, what is your rate and room category please?

 I just got off the phone with Disney and was told that we would play more for AP rate for honeymoon suite at WL then we are with AAA discount. This is the first time ever I would be charged more for AP rate then AAA. Has this happened to anyone else???

woohoo.. thanks.. called and got the AP rate for All star Sports- preferred.. 8 nights for $619.24 with a savings of $230.52

We needed two cash weekend nights at the end of our trip at OKW -- no way I was wasting 54 points per night! We had reservations at rack rate ($530 per night) because no member discount rates were available for that weekend.

I saw this post this morning and hurriedly sent info to DH to call CRO. First round...they tell him no DVC 2-BR available with the discount, not at OKW, not anywhere. I said call back and see if we can get 1-BR and a studio, and I don't care which DVC resort. Second round ...they tell him we can have a 1-BR at AKV, but can't find a studio or even a regular room except Savannah view which would cost more than I'm willing to pay. I said this is crazy, are you sure they checked all DVC resorts? Third round... We now have an AP discount on a 2-BR at OKW (I think we can link our ressies; we'll check with MS tomorrow) at less than the member discount! :woohoo:

To add to this good news: We wanted to add a night at ASMu family suite at the beginning of our trip, and we've been calling every day for two weeks, and no room could be found. This same CRO CM was able to book that extra night too! :dance3: Unfortunately no discount available on ASMu family suites. :sad2:

Now what was different about call #3??? DH was on the WDW reservations web site and the CHAT window popped up. For some reason, he decided to say "yes" to the offer of assistance, chatted for a few moments about our sad reservation problem, and the rep says he can fix it, but we have to call the special CHAT number: 1-407-560CHAT.

Moral of the story: If at first you don't succeed, hang up and call again, and again, or Chat and call again. :upsidedow

Couldn't get one on the web but called and got one. 5 nights 1/26-1/31 about $1670. I didn't book it I just can't decide where to stay or if even to go at all.

Ok, I think I'm losing my mind. I just called to get 1/4-1/6 at a value. For Preferred View at ASSp, they offered me an AP rate of $81.00 plus tax (the regular rate was $94.00 plus tax)!!!!!! :confused3  This is value season???????????

I told her flat out that that was not an AP rate and she got very persnickety. I also in the same call cancelled a campground reservation, and she asked why. I told her that we were going camping a few weeks later, and plus I couldn't get the extra night I needed to make it worth it. I then told her (w/o yelling, being ugly, etc.), that the way the rates are coming out, that it is making this die-hard fan go off-site. At the beginning of the call, she said, "Oh your last stay was in September." I told her, "Yes, and we stayed off-site." I want whoever to know that we don't care about EMH, we have 1 child's AP for parking (rest are seasonal), and there are plenty of hotels off-site that are just as close as the All-Stars and are better values.

Yes, I do know that passes only get you entrance into the park...yes, I get that. But, I want whoever to know that even though I'm a Disney fan from waaay back...they aren't the only game in town.

Ok, 8:00am vent over...I think I'll go have some Halloween candy! pirate:

I tried on my POly 7 nights (1/1 through 1/8) and my TA said there was no discount available for poly! color me shocked...now i have to rethink where to stay ... grr.

Hi, do you mind telling me what was the AAA rate. I am starting to think that the AAA discount rates are starting to beat the AP discount rate. TIA:)

The reason for the $81 is that it was preferred and it was a Friday or Saturday night. The new rates are $49 Sun-Thurs, $69 Fri & Sat. Obviously you have to add the $12 more on to make it preferred, making them $61 and $81. However, this was the only level of resort that had the higher prices for weekend. At the moderates they are $99 a night for any night during the week. We called for a room for 1/26 before moving to the AKV and was quoted the same as you as there were no standard rooms available. Since they offered me $81 a night for value and $99 a night for moderate, I had no choice but to take the moderate just on principle. I would've settled for the $69. Not sure why only the value resorts are higher on the weekend, but am surprised to see the $49 during the week, when in the past the price is generally $59 a night during value season. I also needed one night on 2/3 for when we return from a cruise, and no values are available for the one night, but they are for 2 nights. There are no restrictions listed on the AP email or site, so was a little shocked by this. I booked 2 nights and will try to drop one later and see if I keep the same rate of $49 a night. Been an AP holder for 10+ years, so pretty much have see it all. We never buy our APs for the discount, however, as we average 7-8 weeks a year there, so our AP pays for itself, esp. since we get a great price on it through our DVC membership. Do watch the AP website, as the prices quoted there are higher than CRO is offering.

Thanks for the info! :) I thought that Disney wasn't enforcing the Fri-Sat rule during value season? Only on the values, I guess?

When she told me $81.00, I thought I was going to fall out of my chair! I could have gotten a moderate for $99.00 also, they were available, but then we'd only be going for 1 night, and truly, it is so hard to book a $99.00 moderate, when for close to the same price (within $10-$15), I can book the Buena Vista Suites, have more room, and have a free hot buffet breakfast. We're staying at BVS for 2 nights over Thanksgiving-I didn't even try to get a room on-site.

Well, more room for everyone else staying on property, but we have a larger family anyway (hubby wasn't going to go, that's why I was trying for values), and that puts us in a box w/Disney most of the time.

Thanks again!

I agree, I too was not ready to see the price different. While there is no difference in rack rate over the weekend, it's just that the discount is not as low on the weekends as it is during the week. I also only need one night and a value would be fine with us too. All we can do is wait to see if the general public code is cheaper on the weekend. It was for October this year. I can't figure out why only the value resorts had a tiered discount system while the moderates did not. Never any logic when it comes to codes and disney, I guess.

AAA is 15% off the rack rate for deluxes in Value season. The CR Tower Theme Park view is $348.50 (before tax) and the GF RPC is $565.25 (before tax). It was a significant savings over the AP rate. :confused3

It is because the AP discounts are a flat rate ($50, it looks like) and the AAA is a percentage. On the more expensive rooms the % is going to be better than the flat rate, so AAA trumps AP.
