AP rates are here!!

YES!!!!!!!!

Got AKL Concierge for $379/night incl tax - was paying $473.88/night

Thanks everyone for keeping us all up to date and alerting us that AP's were out!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Ok, in the last two days I went from AAA % rates to the Fairytale Pkg. to AP rates. The AP rates were the ones I really wanted. I am going to stop while I am ahead. So we ended up with 2 rooms at CBR with 5 adults, 1 junior for 10 nights for $2041.00.
So, WDW, here we come!!!! =0) We saved $856.00. Yay!!!

On line right now. Got the FW cabins for July which includes tax for 160.56/nt. (144. before tax)

Thanks for posting the announcement of AP rates! I had made reservations at AKL for July to celebrate DS's 9th b-day, but was probably going to have to change to a moderate if I couldn't get an AP rate. I really didn't want to change since AKL was the specific request by my son as to how he wanted to celebrate his special day. I was able to get AKL standard view for $114/night. We've never stayed there and are really looking forward to it!!! (...And to think that last year we paid $99.00 for AS because I hadn't found this wonderful board.)
YIPEEE!!! :smooth:

Very happy for everyone! Gives me hope for the end of August:) Hey, what do you think-should I keep the Mariott DD for 6 nights/WL for 2 nights or do CSR for 8 nights? It would be about $300 more for CSR.

Yay for everyone!! Now I hope there will be good rates for our trip in September. :D :D

Thank you SO much for posting this! We are staying at GF w/an AP rate through the 7th of July. Even though they applied our AP rate through the 7th, I called today and got an even lower AP rate for 7/4 - 7/7 as those rates are lower for the GF! It was enough to make a difference! I am so excited! Thanks again for posting this. I appreciate it more than you'll ever know! Kim

Hmmm....I don't have an AP but I priced it to see if I might benefit from similar room only discounts that may come out soon. We have two four day park hopper passes from five years ago and only needed the room. Since the FT Package has come out, however, we purchased an 8 night package for one and the other one of us will use the 8 days worth of old passes. This is for a water view room at Boardwalk Inn.

I may be a math professor, but can someone check my logic here? It seems I can rest and stop looking for the better deal.

8 night FT package so this includes passes for one (and we can use our free old passes for eight hopper days too) = $2300/8 = $287.5 per night

versus

8 nights, room only, at AP rate for same room = $260*1.115 tax = $289.90 per night

Am I correct that we actually SAVE $2.40 per day with the FT package and get to go to the parks 8 days (me with the package UPH and my husband with our 8 old passes) rather than four days each (splitting our old passes)? If so, cool! I can rest now! It sounds like the best room only rate that could come out this summer won't be as good as what we have.

Thanks to all for the news on the rates!
I had 3 nights at the CBR for 133/night, and upgraded to the
WL for about 30 bucks more total!!!!
Yow!
So I've got 5 nights in a 2br at OKW (DVC stuff)
and the three at WL!!!
thanks again!

I am really happy for everybody. This gives me hope for my September trip. I am hoping to trade up from the All Stars.

Waaaah! When are the rates for September going to come out? :p
I know it's not going to be for quite a while but, someone had to make the first post. LOL.

Alicia S -
Perhaps I misread something, but I don't understand about the being able to go to the parks only 4 days, since one person could still use your old park hoppers for 8 days and the 2nd person would have unlimited days for an entire year with the Annual Pass required to qualify for the AP rate. If my brain is going slow this morning then disregard this post, but if not you may want to look at the AP rate again if your calculations included the cost of the AP and you could go again within 365 days of your first use of the AP.
Donna :)

morrow4 - It's confusing, isn't it! We don't have an annual pass. I was just using those rates to compare to the Fairytale Package because, if discount room only rates come out soon, they may be similar. It just seemed interesting that the AP discounted room only for 8 nights comes out to essentially the same price as the FT package for one for 8 nights, which includes UPF for 9 days! The AP rate doesn't include passes. They already had to buy those. Interesting. It's probably because I only need to buy the package for one that this is working out like this. It just makes me feel better that I can stop checking for room-only codes five times a day and worrying about when they will or won't come out. It was stressing me out!

Alicia S -
I know what you mean about stressing out! We already had APs from a trip in November and once I read that AP rates would be released I stressed out when I couldn't get to the computer every little while to check this site. Have a great trip.

AliciaS.......Yes, confusion!!! You have to remember that the FT package states "based on DOUBLE occupancy"!
So......No it doesn't work out quite that rate if your DH uses your old passes.
This is what they did for us....we are 2 adults and a junior (my DD).......
7 nights at a moderate....all 3 on the FT plan.....$1429
7 nights at a moderate....me & DD on FT plan and DH using old passes.....$1213! All they do is subtract out the cost of the UPH. So they subtracted $216 for the 7 nights.
WELL....the price of the passes that DH would use still added up to almost $300 for all 8 days (we will be using all days because we arrive early and leave late evening).

So you see, it was still cheaper for us to go with the package and save the old passes for another visit.

Was the price of $2300 for BWI what they actually quoted you? Or was this what you were figuring up??
If it was what the actually quoted....then YES it is a good deal to go with the FT package !
But.....I would still go back and ask them to quote you both ways.....with you alone and with your husband. compare them.

Now you guys have got me confused and I'm not even using the FT package!;)

Have I got this right? They're letting you take people in your party off the package as far as the UPH goes?

If they are, that's really unusual! I've always been told that with packages, everyone in the group has to be on it. In other words, if even one person has an AP you can't do a package at all.

This only effects me because we have room only reservations with a comeback rate. Three in our group have AP's and we were going to get UPH passes for the other two. I was told we'd have to wait until we arrived to purchase the passes if I didn't want to purchase them for everyone in our group.

Have things changed or am I misunderstanding???

peachgirl......they were going to let us do it!
I asked twice if it was okay and she said YES!
We still have 2 hopper passes I purchased 3 years ago that my DH was going to use and me and DD were going to get APs.
But we decided to go with the FT plan for me and DD and wanted to see if DH could use up the old hoppers.

They figured up the price for me and said I could do it, no problem!!!

BUT....like I said....even with what we paid for the passes 3 yrs ago....it was cheaper to get the UPH this time and save the passes for later.

After booking the Swan for $149 plus tax plus $10 resort fee, I was thrilled to see WL for $114 AP rate! I called CRO this a.m. at 7:01 and booked two adjoining rooms, one for friends and one for my family. No problems. The phone was answered Walt Disney Travel Co. and I asked for CRO -- the CM said "I can do either" so, she did! My trip begins the last day of this AP rate period, but that still enabled me to get the $114 rate through 9/1.

I am doing my little happy dance frequently today! What a great Mother's Day gift to myself!

I am so excited we got the AP rate.I was reading Mouse Savers this morning and almost fell off my chair when it said AP's were out.I quickly called and changed to a rate of $80. with tax for a standard. We are coming in late and were going to stay off site the first night. So with the savings we added one night and still saved over $100.
Counting down to August 12

Heidi

I just cancelled our WL Fairytale package and booked the AP rate of
$114 + tax for WL.
We like getting the AP because it gives us the possibility of using the pass again within the year along with other discounts it provides and our renewal is up in June. The UPH was nice with the Fairytale package for the extra water parks, etc. but I will gamble on going back in a year. It still works out to save $75 istead of $150 over CBR with DC discount; so we get an upgrade to WL for less than CBR, just not as much. How can I complain?( Well, that is another story)
Glad I checked the boards this AM after not being online at all yesterday.
