AP rates--Anyone else bummed out?

For those of you trying to get your AP deal, I just wanted to post that I've been looking online on the AP site about 10x a day since the AP rates were released, and this morning the exact room that I needed appeared for my dates! I almost fell out of my chair I was so shocked. And this is Columbus Day weekend so I sort of wasn't expecting the deal to happen, but thankfully it did. Poly garden CL 40% off Columbus Day weekend. So don't give up trying to find your deal!

Anyone else bummed out that AP rates were released the same day as Free Dining? It was bad enough that the AP rates were released AFTER free dining, but now I cannot even get through to try and get an AP rate. Sometimes Disney makes me

Anybody heard anything about the October 2nd "limbo" I'm not sure if Disney will ever discount that day, but it just seems odd and definitely an oversight I hope would be corrected! We have to a Pop/BWI split stay because of the rack rate

I've booked BWI for 4th-5th Oct through Dreams Unlimited, but they have not contacted me to let me know we have got the AP discount. I'm panicing now as my agent is out of the office today and we really need the discount to help with our wedding trip.

Has anyone dealt with Dreams Unlimited? Would anyone with access to Passholder be able to check and see if there is a discount still available for those dates please? I might end up calling Disney myself

If you can swing 2 deposits, I'd just call Disney directly and book what you want with the discount and then cancel DU. They need to be more responsive.

what are your dates? Do you currently have an AP so you can check the site several times per day?

I've got the Poly CL booked for 11/14-11/20. I was able to get the AP 40% discount for mon-thurs. Awesome! However, Friday and Saturday they jack it up to rack rates. Anyone know a way to work around that? I booked online, but if I call do you think a CM can work some magic to get me the AP discounted rate for those two nights? Or maybe it'll be discounted once the GP rates come out?

For some odd reason I can't get into the passholder site. I finally called Disney this morning after being alerted that the AP rates were out for November.

Of course my dates were blacked out (Thanksgiving, I didn't have much hope of a discount).

Just for kicks, I asked the CM on the phone to price out my reservation from 11/26-12/1 instead of my prior dates over Thanksgiving.

It was $1600 cheaper

Yep, so I shifted my dates by 3 days, and I'm now saving a BUNDLE. Which meant that we added an extra night at the beginning of our trip at POP (during the blackout) so we can take full advantage of our first day at WL !

Granted, the only WL rooms they had left were bunk beds but as another poster suggested, I'll just pop some tylenol PM before climbing into my bunk and whispering the mantra "You have $1600" over and over until I fall asleep

Yeah you might be right. I'm not best pleased with the situation we are in. I know that discounts aren't guaranteed, but I am annoyed that I didn't receive any contact with regards to this. I used them as I thought it would be easier than worrying about the room on top of everything else with the wedding - big mistake!!

Friday and Saturday nights are higher priced than weeknights.
I have a feeling holiday pricing goes into effect that weekend.
Those nights are NOT blacked out, but they may be out of rooms for the AP discount.

No, there's no magic that will get you a lower price.

These rates were especially limited and I'm kind of disappointed. They also seemed to release them over the course of a couple of days, so that I initially told a client they weren't out for his travel time only to find them 24 hours later. He was not very happy about this.

Personally, I'm also hoping to get one night at the end of my December stay. We'll see . . . .

It's especially disappointing that the rooms are available without the discount for our dates. Right now at least we have something at the WL - 1/2 trip booked at the WL on an AP discount / 1/2 trip booked at the WLV with a bounce back offer.

Still hoping something changes and we can get all our dates at one location

Ok, now I'm worried....based on reports of additional room availability I went to look at the WL again, and there were rooms in several categories that were not previously available. BUT now they have increased the Saturday night price $150 over what I booked at! My email confirmation shows the lower price, but I'm scared that it will change because it should have been a higher rate for a Saturday....thoughts? Should I be concerned? Should I try to rebook a backup? HELP!!!

I actually asked this question a couple days ago. I was having the same problem, I was booking dec 15-23, and was getting the higher rate on Friday and Saturday, I played around with the dates and by adding a day it changed the rates for both Friday and Saturday. If you play around with your rates, it might change the higher rate days

Don't give up hope!! Because of the lack of monorail resort availability on the 40% off... I ended up splitting my 6 night GF into 2 night GF at rack rate, and 4 night YC-CL. Out of curiousity today, I called to see if anything changed for my 2 rack rate nights at GF.... and there WAS!!!

My curiousity saved me $412 today!!!

I agree with the PPs who report changes on AP online inventory.

I have been checking in every so often trying to find AP days for a specific resort and I have noticed all sorts of inventory changes at other resorts, even a few hours apart when checking online. It it absolutely changes (I assume as some folks cancel or change their ressies).

I can live (quite happily) with what I have now: half of the nights on AP rate with a split stay -- but I'm going to keep looking for a while.

Could get lucky!

Has anyone. called regarding the October 2nd gap in discounts? I'm at work and can't call, but was wondering if it was worth my time. I'd rather not have to split the stay, but right now I have to because of the lack of discount . I'd even be willing to pay rack rate if it was on the same reservation!
