AP Rates - Any Hope At Last Minute

How close to your vacation were you able to get AP rates even after they were initially not available? Is there any hope for getting my hands on one even though there aren't currently any available for Apr 10 - 16 at the Poly? I'm trying to assess if there's any hope at all at this point or should I just be satisfied with what I got?

there's always hope. you might not get all your dates but would you be happy with 1, 2, 3? call everyday, & each day. As long as your dates aren't over a big holiday or special event you might get lucky. Also in 2 weeks when people are due to pay the deposit someone might change there mind. You never know.

I got the Poly Garden view for $250 a night 14-18 April AP rate.

I'd keep checking and keep my options open as far as which resort you want to stay at if getting an AP rate is more imporatant than just getting a room.

Also, if you get a nice CM, explain your situation and they might work extra hard for you. I had a CM do this for me once when I was told time and time again there was nothing. She told me she was going to look for some pixie dust, put me on hold for a few minutes, and came back with just what I needed!

I made reservations in January at POP for February this year and got the rates.....

Someone who also posts on here called on a thursday and got CB starting the next night and for a total of 4 nights at AP rates and that was 2 weeks ago today. You never know...you might have to be flexible with which resort.

I wasn't super clear in my original post - i did get AP rates at CSR and am holding on to those reservations. But, rooms are small, 2 of my party canceled (older son's I was paying partial for), and we have decided to upgrade to a Deluxe. So, now I have a AAA reservation for the Poly as well, same dates, but no AP available.

AKL was the only deluxe available - been there, done that, loved it but really want to try new things. Now that my 10 year old has seen pictures of the Poly , he's got his mind set on that. So I am keeping my fingers crossed and trying to convinve myself that even a AAA rate is good.

I haven't purchased the AP yet but even if we don't get the AP rates, may still elect to do so since we're headed back on Dec 18 for 4 days after a DCL cruise.

I see that you will be there over the Easter weekend and that is of course one of the most crowded times to go. However many people will be clearing out on that Tuesday - Friday that you are there. If I were you I would call CRO and very nicely ask them to check each day on a day by day basis. You may discover that you can get the AP rate at the Poly for Tues- Friday but possibly not for Saturday - Monday. You'd save yourself quite a bit and you could still keep the AAA rate for those other days. In most cases, they will blend the two reservations together when you get there and you won't have to be reloctated or anything. Worst case scenerio you may need new room keys printed but that's a pretty minor inconvieince for big savings!

After being persistent and calling CRO almost everyday for the past week, I managed to get AP rates at a deluxe for my Apr 10 - 16 stay. Mid-week, I ended up with 1 night AAA rate at Poly GV, 2 nights AP rate at Poly, and 3 nights AP rate CR Tower Room. I decided to try once again today to see if I could get AP rate at Poly for Apr 10, the night before Easter, since the other day when I called the only availability was AAA. I scored today and now all 6 nights are AP rates. This is peak season, Easter week, and AP rates are starting to be available. At one point, there were no AP rates during this time frame at Poly at all so it pays to keep calling. In fact, last weekend when I called I was told AKL was the only deluxe with AP rates left for this week.

We initially wanted Poly for all 6 nights but once I got the AP rates for CR Tower, we were happy and will do a split stay - get to try 2 new resorts for us in one trip.

And if anyone is looking for AP rates at CSR, there may be a room available Apr 10 - 16 since I cancelled my AP ressie there.

We often go at the last minute. Chances are much slimer but then there is often the chance. Last year we got a great Christmas rate at the last minute. You need to be willing to be flexible on what resort you are willing to stay at. And if you can be flexible on your dates your chances will increases greatly.
