AP rate VS. Fla. Res. rate

In the past has the Ap rate been the same as the Fla res dicount rate for resorts? I see the ones out now and they are the same. I have the Fla res discount for our sep/oct stay for $79.00 a night at CSR. I want to go ahead and pay the blance now but dont know if I should wait till the AP rates come out (whenever that may be) or stick with the $79.00 one

I don't think the AP rates are ever lower than the Fla resident rate. They are usually the same or a little more for AP rates.

If they do go lower, you can always get the difference refunded back.

A travel agent over on the intercot board posted that the AP rate was $79 for moderates when it was briefly out earlier this week.

Just lately they have been the same. Last year they were (FLRes) about $10 cheaper and would come out AFTER AP rates. Most of the tiime I would get the AP rate, then switch to FL, becase it was cheaper. Even if you do pay the balance in full, they can credit you. I would not expect the AP rates to be any cheaper, though. The LOWEST I've seen the moderates lately is $74.

No matter what time of the year we book...the FL resident and the AP rate are either the same or within $1 of each other.

I would stick with what you have...that is a great rate!

From my experience anytime we've ever booked a WDW resort the FL resident rate has always been lower even by 5-10 dollars a night (which adds up to a meal) and sometimes at much as 40-50 a night.

When we've had to book at the AP rate (since they are available sooner) I always check on FL resident rates as the trip gets closer to see if they are any available. If we can get a better rate they credit our reservation.

Just wanted to let you know that $79 is a terrific rate for CSR! We went in peak season, so we paid $109. We thought it was great for that price!
