does anyone have any idea which is better? I haven't called yet to check rates. My son is pfc. I have an AP. Trying to figure out which way we should go. Right now I have POR booked, but figured I'd check out our options.

I think best is to call and find out. My understanding is military is better if not the same depending. But he has to be the one to make the reservations.

Now the military isn't always offered so check your dates as to when it is available.

When I called last week, 2017 Military discounts were not available yet.

Keep an eye out on militarydisneytip.com. He is very good about announcements and all. It probably won't be till later this year.

Only the regular 2017 rates are available right now.

He is eligible to stay at SOG. It is on Disney property, but not Disney owned. It is across from the Poly (not on the monorail), between the Palm and Magnolia golf course. Guests are eligible for EMH, but have to wait for 30 days out to make FP. Guests can not use Magical Express. SOG has there own transportation to the parks, or you can walk to the Poly and use their monorail/buses.

SOG would be a cheaper option....as a pfc he would pay about $100 per night (no tax) and he can also purchase tickets there at a discount.

We are AP holders and also eligible for the military discount. The military discount has always been better. We have actually never used
our AP discount.
