It has been my experience that the ap holder needs to be the one to check in. If the room is under the name of the ap holder. I dont know if they will give you the ap rate when you check in without proof of ap.- if the room is in your name. My husband once tried to check-in with an ap rate. they would not allow him ,as I was the ap holder. Now we all have aps so this does not happen. I think it depends on who checks you in. But, ap rates are usually significant discounts, so they want to ensure that you are not just giving out your ap to anyone for the discount. You never Know what disney will do. Why not call the resort and explain that your dh will arrive later and maybe you can show his pass with your licence and maybe a marriage licence.
