I have a question about my upcoming trip.

I have a AP rate room reserved in my name. However it's my husband that has the AP. Is this going to be a problem at check in?

Thanks in advance.

It has been my experience that the ap holder needs to be the one to check in. If the room is under the name of the ap holder. I dont know if they will give you the ap rate when you check in without proof of ap.- if the room is in your name. My husband once tried to check-in with an ap rate. they would not allow him ,as I was the ap holder. Now we all have aps so this does not happen. I think it depends on who checks you in. But, ap rates are usually significant discounts, so they want to ensure that you are not just giving out your ap to anyone for the discount. You never Know what disney will do. Why not call the resort and explain that your dh will arrive later and maybe you can show his pass with your licence and maybe a marriage licence. This is actually what I have to do to got the ap florida resdident for my Dh because our home is in my name.

Thanks for the information. My husband will be with me at time of check in so are you saying this shouldn't be problem then?

I think you would be better off changing the room resse into your DH name. That way there will be no question at all.

So long as his name is on the ressie (now they ask for the names of all the travelers) it shouldn't be a problem. Especially since it's your husband. He does have to be present at check in though. They checked mine when I checked in a couple weeks ago at BC.

Thanks! I just called Disney and they said it was no problem since he is on the reservation and checking in with me.

I called yesterday to book a room for my Sister. We are both going in June but she is coming a few days later than me so I couldn't just book 2 rooms under my name. Since I am paying for her room (paid in full already) I booked the ap rate. The CM booked it all under her name. I even asked that if this was ok seeing I was paying and using the AP rate (she does not have an ap). The CM said yes it was fine and the room had to be in her name. I made sure to get the CM's name just incase there is a problem when she checks in. I do plan on being there with her when she checks in.

I sure hope we don't have a problem. Anyone ever book this way?

it is amazing to me that so many people can have different experiences at WDW. we have been AP holders for a few years, and we have visited at least 2 times a year with AP resort rates, and I have never actually been asked to show my active/valid AP??? just as a comparison, we are also passholders at Universal, also affords 40% off resort rates, we have stayed twice using this discount, and also were not asked to present our passes......go figure:confused3

Michelle in NY, leaving THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW....AP rate at POFQ, will let you all know what happens:yay:
