I'm looking into buying the Florida resident gold pass and have a few questions...

If I pay monthly do I get a discount when I renew it a year later? What happens to the payments on renewal, do you pay the down payment when renewing or does price change instead? Does the magic band ship to you when you order the pass or after you activate it on first use? Any other advice on whether to pay monthly versus just paying for the pass outright?

If I pay monthly do I get a discount when I renew it a year later?

Yes, as long as it's done during the renewal window. The renewal window opens 60 days before your current pass expires and extends until 30 days after it's expired.

What happens to the payments on renewal, do you pay the down payment when renewing or does price change instead?

Renewals don't require a down payment. The cost of the renewal will be divided by 12 with the first monthly payment charged to your CC immediately.

Does the magic band ship to you when you order the pass or after you activate it on first use?

For new APs, you can customize the MagicBand(s) once activated. For renewals, the MB customization option is available as soon as you renew.

Any other advice on whether to pay monthly versus just paying for the pass outright?

The monthly payment plan does not have any fees or interest.
