Do I need to go somewhere (guest services) to "pick up" my AP's since they are linked to my MB's? I know we used to do that but it was because we actually got a ticket.

Yes, you have to activate them. I wish I would have known this before last Saturday, but if you don't have a paper confirmation printed, you have to wait in line at Guest Relations outside the park. BUT, if you have a printed confirmation, an iPad wielding CM can come to the gate and activate it for you. That little piece of info would have saved me 90 minutes in line if I'd have known it ahead of time.

You can also activate them at any Park Ticket Window, which may have shorter lines than Guest Relations.

You will still need to "get a ticket" of sorts.

Even though your AP ticket assets are available via your MB (and, yes, the AP must be activated in the usual way at a ticket booth or Guest Relations by showing your legal Photo ID,) You will also get a flat plastic AP ID card that you will need show to get the various "AP perks" like meal and merchandise discounts.

That makes sense, thanks!

Quick question:

We upgraded our 5 day hopper to AP during our October trip. All we got was the MB bands back and were told they were AP. I did get an AP brochure and the car magnet so I know we are on file as an AP holder.

We did NOT get a card of any sort. We will be going back for the marathon in January, how do we go about getting the card? We will be staying off site, so the card is necessary for parking. If we need to get the card at guest relations, will they let us in without paying parking? Reimburse?

TIA

Have you gone back to the MagicBands & Cards page in MDE? There should be a pending order for MagicBands for the Passholder Affiliation.

Order the Magic Bands and they will send you those plus a Discount Card that you will be able to flash to get discounts and parking. I believe that you should have been given a RFID card annual pass though.

Last year, we ordered AP magic bands. When they came, I was breaking the box down to fit in the trash when I found the discount/parking pass cards! They were hidden beneath the part that holds the magic bands!

Still a bit confused on when you receive the AP discount card. I plan on purchasing my AP sometime tomorrow, but I won't actually enter a park until MLK weekend. My question is can I receive the discount card before then, like can I plan on going to DTD this week and would like to use the card for some shopping, so if I go to Guest Relations with my eCertificate will I get the card?

1. My question is can I receive the discount card before then,

2. like can I plan on going to DTD this week and would like to use the card for some shopping,

3. so if I go to Guest Relations with my eCertificate will I get the card?

1. Nope. (Not unless you activate your AP.)
2. See #3 below.
3. You can do that at any time.
HOWEVER... When you DO, your AP will become activated on that date and
will expire one year later from that date.
(If that's OK with you, then go ahead.

So, even if you don't go into a park until MLK weekend, your AP will have been "counting down"
from the day that you activated it.

You can't get the discount card unless you activate the AP, and the clock starts ticking on an AP when you activate it, not when you first use it to enter a park. So if you activate it today, December 23, it will expire next December 23, even if you do not use it to enter a park until January 16.

There must be an echo in here.
