I am going to call and order a voucher for our AP's for our trip Dec 7th. We are staying at the AKL on 12/7 and 12/8-12/16 at BCV. We are planning on picking up our AP's on 12/8 on our way into MK. Is there a way for me use our AP voucher against our room at AKL on 12/7th?

I've posted a similar question and been told that the AP voucher is sufficient for check-in. However, at times the CM will allow the check-in but then ask the guest to bring the AP by after it is activated. I've also been warned that you should be in a position to activate the AP before check-in if required, though I haven't heard of anyone for whom this has actually been required. All third hand, but that's what I've been told.

When I made my reservations with the AP rate I was told that all I needed was the voucher, although I would need to bring the actual pass back once I got it. I think that's the "official" response, I've read tons of posts that say they never ask for the pass, voucher or anything else. At any rate, the voucher will work fine at check-in.

Over the last two years I have been to AKL, YC (twice) and the GF and have never been asked for my AP.

I may be reading something into this that isn't there but just in case:

If you already have your room reserved at an AP rate, then you should be able to use it to check in as the others have said.

But if you have a room reserved at another rate and want to show your AP at check-in to get the AP rate, you can't. It's not an automatic discount (is anything at Disney?). You must have reserved the room ahead of time at the AP rate.

Sorry if this isn't what you meant.

GoldenOldie...

I'm glad you mentioned this, because I also wondered if the op might be asking if they could get a ap rate at the time of check-in, but I decided it was probably just me over analyzing a question.
:D

Chip1, you can call CRO and ask for the AP rate for your reservation that you have. The rate may no longer be available, though. They are limited availability. But if you wait 'til check-in to ask for the AP rate, I'm sure it would be too late.

When you arrive, if asked, show your AP Voucher. Since you will have already paid for the voucher, you in essance have an AP as far as reservations go. You may be asked for confirmation of the AP (show it at check-out, but unlikely) depending on the CM and how "by-the-book" he or she is.

Thanks for all your suggestions. We have a cash room at AKL on 12/7 before checking into BCV for 8 nights. I got a standard room rate of 193 w/tax using my DC discount. I ordered our AP vouchers today and called to see if the AP rate was available. Unfortunately, only a concierge was avail ($269 w/tax). We decided to stay with what we have.
