So, my parents have a Southern California Annual Pass and it expires in August. My quesiton is:

How much will it cost to upgrade to a premium if they want to do the monthly payment plan?

Also, my mom just mailed the papers for the premium pass for my siblings and I, because our Southern California pass is about to expire on Sunday. She is doing the monthly payment plan for us, and she wanted to know:

Because it was mailed yesterday, how long will it take? We are planning on going this weekend. Will the pass be mailed to us? or do we have to pick it up at Disneyland?

I imagine that the monthly payment would be the difference of the 2 passes divided by remaining months. I don't know for a fact they'll let you do this. I'm curious too as I am going to upgrade my SC Select AP to SC AP so I can go on my birthday in June. I wonder if I can still do the monthly payments.

It depends on where you both live as to how long the papers will take in the mail. I would think once you get the papers you can take them to DLR to process and get your AP.

I would call DLR and ask them your questions. That way you'll know for sure. :goodvibes

On Saturday, I upgraded my SoCal select to SoCal for a cost of $45 dollars. My DD who has the SoCal bought a blockout day pass for $40; we went to the Annual Pass location (bank) and were told that she would have to pay an additional $55 to get a full upgrade to Deluxe. DL no longer adjusts the upgrade according to months left on the original pass :confused3 . We also renewed SoCal Select passes for DH and older DD and were asked if we wanted to do the payment plan for the newly renewed passes; were not asked if we wanted the upgrades on a payment plan.

I don't remember DL every pro-rating the upgrades. :confused3 It wouldn't make sense to do this since everyone would buy the cheapest AP and then upgrade to the more expensive ones during major block out periods (summer, Christmas). I know I've upgraded a few AP over the years and it's always been the full difference.

We've had APs for over 10 years now, and they did prorate - they used a prorated "sheet" that had months left and price to charge! We always started out with SoCal and then upgraded to Deluxe - once we even upgraded to Premium during the 50th bday year!
