Im sure this has been asked a million times, but Im going to ask again. We are staying at AKV in April and we plan on purchasing Annual Passes. Can I do that when we arrrive at the resort? Do I have to purchase ahead of time? I want the DVC discount so Im assuming I have to go through Disney to get it, but I guess Im not sure when and where to get them from. I know they get activated at the parks(right?). Any help would be great.

You can purchase your DVC Discounted anual pass at guests services windows outside the parks, or at Downtown Disney. The resorts don't handle any Annual Pass purchases at all, only MYW tickets.

You can also purchase them off the DVC member website. You'll get vouchers that you trade in at Guest Services for the APs that start on the day you trade in the voucher. Takes about a week to ten days for the voucher to get to you.

If you buy them directly from Guest Services, you get the actual pass, not a voucher and they start immediately.

We've done it both ways.
