My 6 year old and I have the deluxe AP's and they expire in late October. My mother has decided to go with us on an trip to DL the first weekend in May, and our passes are blocked out for Saturdays as of now... So is it worth it to upgrade to a premium pass, :confused3 do I get some form of discount :lmao: or what? How do others go around the blockout date? I don't particularly want to pay for 1 day passes for both of us as they are quite expensive, what do you guys think? TIA! :wizard:

You get can a $40 block-out pass in lieu of a full day admission.

Oh my gosh, where? And how? I have been looking on Ebay and wow they are still expensive~!

Oh no, I was looking at Ebay for regular 1 day tickets... But it seemed kinda weird that people are selling them on there and you have to meet them... Doesn't sound too legal, but whatever. I thank you kind sir for the info! :wizard:

It's not really worth it to upgrade now, unless you're going on weekends and holidays. I'd just get the blackout tickets, you get them at the ticket booths. $40 and you're good to go. No need for a 1 day ticket, with the blackout pass you can even park hop. :)

How often are you likely to go on 3 or more black out dates between and October? If you expect to go once or twice then pay the $40. However with the Premium you get free parking and discounts on tours and merchandise. It is $120 more to get the Premium. Your passport would expire in October.

2 block out days is $80 + $24 parking so it would be whether you can get $16 in discounts with the AP.

3 block out days is $120 + $36 parking so you are saving money.

My favorite part of the premium is the higher food discounts and the ability to buy merchandise INSIDE the park at a discount, instead of having to wait until we go out and go into World of Disney.

That's worth the $16 to me in time savings, too, as they do not carry one of everything that is inside the park...

Not that long ago Disney would prorate the upgrade cost based on number of remaining blackout days and calendar days. They stopped doing that for some reason. Makes it less and less worthwhile to upgrade as the year goes on.

If you're only going for one blackout day just pay the $40. If you'll go on 3 or 4 blackout days then I'd upgrade. Also might if you buy a lot of stuff at Disneyland!

:)You can get the blockout passes at Guest Services also. I read about that tip on here before we went and it worked out great. The lines are usually much shorter than the ticket booths.

This may be a silly question, but is Guest Services in the park? We couldn't do that as we arrive that Saturday... :goodvibes
