Does anyone know when AP prices typically go up or if they went up recently? I'd like to wait until a little closer to our trip to buy them but don't want to get caught in a price increase.

Also, how long you have from the time you buy them until you have to activate them?

Thanks.

It's really anyone's guess when/if there will be an increase next year. I can tell you this...if you hear of Disney going up then Universal will follow suit.

I'm not sure how long you have to activate them...I have been renewing for the past 16 years.

i seem to remember the increases hitting in feb sometime...right before busy spring break. But this year is anyone's guess.

You have quite a while to activate unless they've changed things recently - a year, I think? Universal's guest relations team can confirm activation window and are pretty quick to respond to questions via email: within 2-3 days usually.

I feel like Feb used to be a time but true that things aren’t typical anymore.

With the travel situation getting weird again, I don’t want to buy them and have to sit on them for a long time. But even worse would be buying them and having them expire without being able to use them. We’ve been sitting on airline credits for 2 years - if they hadn’t been extended we would have lost the money.

And yes, Uni, not Disney APs

The 15 month promotion ended 3/31/21, AP prices went up 4/1/21. We were told they could be activated whenever we went to the parks. ( No time limit)
Good to know. Thank you! I’d like to get extra months but I’m guessing promotions won’t start until Jan at this point and we need them Jan 3.

Are promotions common? What is the expiration on a yearly pass? We plan to have our first park day 11/3/22. And we want to use it for another trip which last park day would be 11/4/23. Would the AP be valid?

No idea. I was surprised. But we didn't do or ask for anything special.
I was curious about this, because I swore I saw that it was 366 days. But I have no idea if I am making this up in my head. We go to Orlando every year during Jersey Week and a Seasonal Pass would make so much sense if we can cover two trips (and then maybe more!)

Hello. I wanted to check in to see if there’s any new info out there on whether Universal will raise AP prices and when? I’m planning to take my kids this summer, but I was holding off buying our passes in the hopes that Universal would do the 15 month deal again. However, I don’t want to wait too long and risk prices going up. Is there anyway to know if and when they may offer the 15 month deal and if and when they will raise AP prices? Thanks!

I'm in the same boat after letting my AP's lapse and there's no way to be certain. Everything is in flux for businesses and what happened pre-pandemic or even last year can't be guaranteed to happen now. Last year they offered the 15 month deal in March and then upped prices in April.

With attendance high for the moment (especially with the addition of some unhappy Disney guests) they may not feel the need to offer any AP deals. I'm not depending on it. I am keeping an eye on when/if Disney starts offering AP's again, as some think a price increase will come with it. In the past, if Disney raised AP prices, Universal followed suit. The demand is there right now, Omicron notwithstanding. My trip isn't until the middle of May, so I can continue to watch for a bit.
