AP prices increased [6/18/2019]

Two increases in less than one year is pure greed. There is no other way to explain it. I guess they want to pay off their loans for the much needed improvements sooner than planned. I hope they also plan on cleaning and providing better transportation by not shutting down the monorails during the day and only giving the ferry as an option to and from the MK.

Bought 4 Platinum APs this morning and got my email and voucher right away. So grateful for this thread! Now I'm seriously debating buying 4 more and saving them for 2021-2022. There's no way we won't go back with our kids being young and I'm sure the prices will continue to increase.

Has anyone who bought through Sams today or yesterday received the voucher yet?
I bought mine yesterday at 2:08 and received my email with voucher at 2:24. I have not linked them yet as I have an upcoming trip with an AP and I don't want any confusion.

This price increase is going to force a lot of people to rethink AP purchases.
We have not been to " The World" since 2011. Our family of 4 went to Disney World from 2006-2011 annually, and starting in 2008 stayed at Pop Century for 10 nights with full Free Dining plan ,and it cost $1400-$1900 during that time period...I'm aware that there was a recession then, and Disney did what they needed to do to bring visitors in- and it was great! I priced a trip for mid-summer this year for 4 nights/5 days at Pop with 5 day base tickets for $2600 ! I know Disney is a business, but corporate greed is at an all time high(hopefully, but I doubt it has peaked). There is no way we are going to pay the exponentially increased price to visit Disney any time soon, although we would love to be able to afford it. So the increase in prices for parking, tickets, AP's, hotel, dining, hard ticket events etc...has essentially priced our family out of Disney World. I am sooo grateful that we had the great times we did when we did!!

I have fast passes already booked for July. So, if I buy a pass thru sams & link the voucher & cancel my other tickets on the package, will my fastpasses remain intact?
Yes your fastpasses should remain intact. Just an FYI canceling the other tickets may require a phonecall and a tad bit of hassle. If you got free dining you need those other tickets. If you are paying for the dining plan you can remove the tickets and have a ticketless package. If it is just tickets and room you're going from a package to a room-only reservation and the system doesn't like to let you do that.

The APs from Sams or tickets at work. Are they valid for one year from first use or one year from purchase?

I'm in the same boat except I'm not 100% sure we'd go back in that time span. But having bought next years passes last night, I'm seriously contemplating getting another set of vouchers for 2021-2022 also...

Does anyone know what the new renewal price will be? Can't figure out if the renewal amount will be more then the old AP prices or will they be about the same with the discount.

I've searched everywhere I can think of and can't find the AAA page for an AP. I see regular park tickets, no AP. ugh....

Search for Disney World tickets. Then click "filter by". The annual passes should be part of the list.

If anyone's credit card transaction with Sam's Club Travel & Entertainment is posted already (which I highly doubt), could you tell me what it is coded as? Here's hoping it'll be Travel so that I can get cashback ha.

I bought mine at Tickets at Work with my Sapphire Reserve. It is pending now so cannot tell what it is coded as. Should find out by tomorrow! Hoping for 3x the points :)

I am starting to think the same. But maybe for 5-10 years from now.

A few years ago I invested in true nonexpiring tickets. Worth its weight in gold :) Then I stocked up on some tickets where the validity doesn't expire about 3 years ago. Given the rapid price hikes, those tickets are worth quite a bit now. I haven't used them yet though. If there is no free dining next summer, I plan to use them then.

So far my Disney tix have been very good investments. Now APs are the only tix that don't expire until at least 2030. Might be worth the risk, especially since for now the vouchers are transferable.

Just curious, what is the cost of the Platinum Pass through Sams?

I'm not a member at the moment, so I can't see what the "Member Price" is.

$951+ tax non DVC new renewal price. AP purchased through TAW $865.99 + tax

Thank you, so with tax for me I'm looking at around 923 bucks.

I can get one from Ticketsatwork for 952.

We already are members at Costco, so to spend $45 isn't that good a deal to save 29 bucks.
I have heard that you can sign up for a Sam's membership and then cancel within 30 days to get your money back. Please verify that prior to using that advice.

I don’t have a Sams membership. If I join online am I able to shop immediately or do I have to activate the membership in store?
