We are thinking about buying annual passess for our upcoming trip in April/May. We are DVC members and are booked for the BCV. We are also thinking about going to WDW in the Fall for Food and Wine Festival. We would then be staying on site-non DVC site, probaly POFQ riverside or ASM. Can we still do the dining plan if we have annual passes? I have been trying to price a stay for the Fall, and could not add the dining plan without buying at least a one day park ticket.

In order to get the dining plan you must purchase a package. In order to purchase a package you must purchase at least a one day base park ticket for each person on the room. You will have to pay rack rate or the rate for whatever promotion might be going on at the time. You will not be able to get an AP rate on the room with a package. I believe you can use those one day base tickets towards the renewal of your APs when you're ready to do that but I'm not positive.

I've asked this ?, too - because we want to stay 14 days next time...
when you buy a package (tickets and room) it's only up to 10 days. I'm not sure if the remaining 4 days are going to be pro-rated - or how much I will pay --- I have a feeling, though that it will be more expensive than an AP! We also want to get DDP.

There are two ways to purchase the DDP. One is the DDP package booked through Reservations which must include at least a one day ticket for each person on the reservation.

DVC members can purchase the DDP without a ticket purchase but you "must" stay at a DVC resort using your member points.

so if we bought the AP, we could already have the DP since we are staying with points at BCV in April/May, then in the Fall go back and stay paying rack rates, with a possible chance of an AP code, buy a one day park ticket, which would enable us to buy the DP? Does this sound correct. Sorry, but we are not too knowledgeable in the AP process, and since it is a large chunk of change, we want to make sure we are doing the most econominical thing.
Thanks again

With an AP, the only way to get an AP rate is to get a room only reservation. With a room only reservation you cannot get the dining plan. The only way to get the dining plan is with a package which would include your room at rake rate, the dining plan and at the very least a 1 day base ticket for everyone staying in your room.

You can book a 14 day package with dining. I though I had read people say that recently but I did go to Disneyworld.com to be sure. The only thing is it only comes up with a 10 day ticket. However it seems to me that you are able to add more days to your tickets at Disney World. Not sure about that though.

While it is possible to add more days to admission tickets at WDW, the current maximum is still 10 total (including used and unused) on the same ticket. After that, you have to start over with a new ($70) ticket.
