So, it seems that if you are on a trip on the final day of your AP, you will not have any access to down load your photos after you go home? They will all disappear at the 365 day mark? that would mean that we wouldn't get a chance to download our photos from our last trip (Jan 2016) on the AP. We aren't going to be back home where we can edit and down load photos until 2 days after our WDW AP expires.

That doesn't seem very good to me!:guilty: I would prefer to have my new pics for the trip in January than get last January's, that I already purchased, all over again.

This will affect anyone that purchases an AP for two trips at the extreme ends of one year. The second trip would still need the purchase of a Memory Maker?

That can't be right? Am I missing something?

Just out of curiosity, where did you get this information? Why would you think they just disappear at the 365 day mark? I'm not saying your info isn't accurate (I personally don't know), but I would think they'd still be available for the 45 days (or whatever is) from the photo date, just like MM. If your info is accurate, it impacts me because our last trip on the AP does coincide with the 365 day mark. So many things to think about regarding this whole AP/PhotoPass thing!

From the Pass information page at disneyworld.com (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/passes/):

A MagicBand is required to receive certain attraction photos and other digital content. Photos and other digital content linked to a Disney account with a Disney PhotoPass® benefit for qualifying Annual Pass holders will expire 365 days from the date of capture. This Disney PhotoPass® benefit is subject to terms and restrictions and also to the Family & Friends terms and restrictions. Not responsible for missing, lost or damaged photos. Online registration required. Downloads are restricted to personal use by passholder only. Subject to change without notice.

That is what I am asking. The photos expire 365 days "from the date of capture." What does that mean? Does that mean that the photos are good until a year after they are taken? Or from when the AP is activated? In other words, "Do they expire at the same time as the AP?" Or are they available for up to a year after the AP expires?

Yes, this is the information that I have seen. What does it mean? When does the 365 days begin? When the photo is taken or when the AP begins? What does the 'date of capture " mean?

The photos are available, but you'll only be able to download them if you have an active AP.

Since normal pictures are available for 45 days after capture, I'd guess that everything from 45 to 365 days old would disappear once your AP expires.

If the quote below is correct, then you need an active AP to download the photos. If that is true, then I don't know what the photos are 'available' for after the AP expires. They were only available for download, right? So, photos taken on a trip that ends with your AP expiry will not have photos available for download after you go home. Is that what it sounds like to you?

So.....We will either have to buy a MM or do without the photos from our last trip in Jan. Very sad!

I think what @supersnoop is saying (although, someone please correct me if I'm wrong), is that the photos from the earlier trip (say a few months earlier) probably won't be available once the AP expires, but anything within 45 days of that last trip, should be able to be downloaded even if the AP expires. So as long as you get your earlier pictures downloaded well before the AP expired, then the most recent ones should still be there and able to be downloaded for free within 45 days. Not sure if that's actually how it will work (I hope so), but I think that's what he/she saying. Bottom line, I don't think any of us will know until this is tested out by someone who has recently upgraded with an AP that's about to expire.

What happens if I'm visiting the parks with people who are not annual passholders? Do I need to scan my own band/card for every picture, or is there a way to link my PhotoPass privileges to their bands/cards?

Just wondering because it's possible that we'll split up into different groups at various points and they're more interested in using the PhotoPass service than I am. Thanks in advance!

Hi, this question has been asked on a few other threads and I'm not sure if there has been a definite answer. I'm pretty sure that as long as they're linked to your account as friends/family, you will be able to download their photos scanned with their band. Note that I said YOU will be able to, not them. However, I've also seen reports that the person with AP/PhotoPass entitlement can only download photos for free that have been scanned with their own band. So, I'm not absolutely sure yet, but even if you can download their photos for free, you, as the account holder, will be the only one with the authority to do it. I don't think that's too big of a deal, though, because you can just email them the photos after you download them or put them on flash drive (assuming they're not members of your own household).

Now, the one thing I'm still not seeing a definite answer to is the original question in this thread posed by @Babsy regarding if your trip happens to end at the same time your AP expires -- i.e., if you'll still have access to those most recent photos for free or if you'll no longer have the ability to do so once you get home from the trip because the AP is no longer valid. Questions, questions.
