Hi! I purchased annual passes but our first trip isn't until Sept 20...it won't let me log into the AP area online until they are activated. I was just wondering are there any perks out there for AP holders besides the merchandise and hotel discounts that are worth knowing about?

Thanks so much!!

Cheaper Halloween party tickets and special events......I went to the 20th anniversary of Fantasmic in May.

The anniversary sounded fun! I heard they were showing Disney movies at the theater on main street for AP holders too?

I'm sure you already know this, but you didn't mention it specifically so I'll just add that you get food discounts. This is huge for me! The hardest thing for me was remembering to ask for it.

There are occasional perks that come up. For instance, last year they had a BOGO free (or maybe it was 50% off) at Hagen Daaz for anything in August! There are places that will give you a great discount that you might not normally think of. I got an excellent discount once on a shirt I bought at House of Blues. I think it was 30% off. I just asked if they gave ap discounts and they gave me that deal :confused3

Tours are nicely discounted.

My strategy is to ask everywhere, just in case. I'm sometimes surprised at the discounts I get that way!

And it used to be that you could plug in the number above (or below?) the bar code on your ap voucher and access the ap section on disneyland.com before you'd activated the voucher. I don't know whether or not that's still true but you could try it and see.

Great points!! I didn't know we got discounts at downtown Disney!! I just have a confirmation number not a voucher for the APs I think I tried back in may to sign on with that..maybe I will try again.

Thanks so much for the hints!!!

Unfortunately it hasn't been that way for quite some time (at least a couple of years). You have to have your actual AP number from your card to sign in. Sorry!
