In order to get on the AP payment plan, you need to put the price of a 1 day/1 park ticket down ($72).

Can I use a ticket that I purchased ahead of time (say at the Disney Store) as entry into the park, then go to the bank and upgrade that to an AP and what I paid for that ticket count as my down payment? Or do I need to go to the ticket booth, tell the CM I want a Deluxe AP and want to put it on the payment plan and then they give me a voucher to get into DL, then I go to the bank?

I really don't want to wait in line at the ticket booths and it would be easier to just buy my ticket the day before and upgrade that.

Any help would be wonderful. I thought I would ask here before I call DL guest services and ask.

We sort of did this back in May. We had purchased the So Cal 2fer tickets & found we just needed another day, lol. We decided to upgrade on the last day & just did it at the ticket booth later in the afternon when nobody was in line. There was no waiting at all & we were going to DTD for dinner anyway.

We did do the payment plan because that was what worked best while we were there but they give you a number to call to pay it off. After we handled it at the ticket booth we went to dinner & hit the bank when we came back in. Neither place had a wait except the bank maybe had 2 people in front of us. It was easy. ;)

As far as what you CAN do, I'm not sure. That's just what we did. HTH.

Thank you so much for your answer.

I kind of think I don't see why they wouldn't let you. But, for some reason I'm thinking they want to see you pay that down payment, you know?

I realized I didn't answer this part directly. I was answering "where" you do it, lol. We did it thru the ticket booth. The answer to the question though is YES, you can use the ticket price as a downpayment. We did just that with our 2fer tickets. Those qualified as our down payment. We did have to put down $20 or so to cover the difference of my child's ticket & the downpayment. We were there in late May.

Thank you! :)

I wonder if you could do it at the AP processing center too?

I'm thinking that people just buy regular tickets and half way through the day decide "Oh! I love it here! I want an AP!!" and just show up at the bank and say they want to upgrade and then put it on the payment plan. So that's why I don't see them telling me no you can't do this.

That's pretty much what we did, lol. Half way thru our second day we decided that we couldn't possibly show the kids everything we wanted them to see in the short time we had left, lol. Like I said earlier, we were on our way to dinner in DTD & just did it at the ticket booth.

Maybe I'll just do it at the ticket booth. Well, we're going to go to the bank first thing in the morning so DBF can do his AP, I'll ask there and see what the CMs say!

Thank you again, MyMonkies!

I can't help you with that one! I know you can buy Disney tickets in the gift card section at our local Vons but I don't know which ones.
