AP payment plan for ALL of California??

Did they just extend the monthly payment plan for all CA resident, not just southern CA?

I looked at the DL site today and saw this:

"Hey, California residents*! Spread out the cost of your Disneyland® Resort Annual Passports over 12 months — interest and finance charge free!

As far as I could tell, 96199 is in Northern CA by Lake Tahoe...

If so, that's great news for the rest of us in California

Yep! As soon as they raised the prices on Sunday, the option for ALL Californians to use the monthly payment plan was available!

Wish they would have told me before I bought my AP outright on Saturday....I definitely would have waited and used the payment plan. Oh well...

Wow! That's big news for our Central Cali and NorCal DIS'ers! That has been a bone of contention among non-SoCal California residents for a long time. Actually, this seems to have slipped under the radar. I have not seen anyone else mention it until now! Has anyone seen a mention of this news anywhere else? Maybe no one read the fine print (I know I didn't!)?

One thing to note is that the monthly payments will make it much easier for many more people to get AP's, as it did with SoCal residents...and since so many people already blame "the locals" for the huge AP crowds in the parks, they won't be able to solely blame the "locals" anymore, as AP crowds will be comprised of many people all over the state! I can see lots of Central Cali people making extended weekend trips much more often, for example.

I think DLR is about to get more crowded, more often!

The payment plan button showed up on the Disneyland website at about 12:02 AM after the midnight price increase on Sunday morning . I know this because I had just purchased my PAP and was checking to see when the price would change online. I noticed some blurb about all Californians being able to make payments. The next day, I clicked along until I found the monthly payment price, which is essentially 12 months with payments and no extra charges. I thought it was great news, even though I just spent the whopping $459 hours earlier. The Ticket Increase thread mentions it, I think.

Yep, it was mentioned on the "Ticket Prices Increasing" thread, but didn't receive any follow on comments. Personally, I prefer to pay when I purchase something, not put it on payments. That said, I agree with you Sherry! Just the fact that we NorCal folks were denied equal consideration was a bone of contention, and I'm glad they fixed it.

Now if they'd just give us discount passes, like the SoCal APs

YAY!!!!! Now, I don't need it yet (our APs are good until April) but hopefully it will still be available when I do need it, that will make renewing so much easier!!! Thanks for finally recognizing the "other" residents of the state Disney!!!

I was very surprised to not see more excited posts about this change, given how many posts through the years have been expressed dissatisfaction about the very same issue.

I saw it mentioned on the very front page of the Dis, in that scrolly Dis Site Updates doohickey. Has the headline of "Disneyland Annual Pass payment option now available to all California residents".

Now if only they would extend the Southern CA annual pass RATES (and Southern CA discounts) to ALL of California! This has miffed me for years! WDW gives discounts to ALL Florida residents, but DL only gives them to people in Southern CA.

It is very nice to hear that DL is doing a monthly plan for all the California residents. But I don't need to worry about it since I renewed my Premier AP a couple of weeks ago before the price increase on Sunday.

I agree with this. I am a bit worried that AP crowds will be even bigger despite the price hike. If they offered super cheap passes to everyone the crowds will be pretty intense year round. I honestly dont think they should offer the SoCal passes to us down here either, but I suppose they do want an affordable choice for those that live really close to come on those days when others cannot.

Yep - I also think, like you said, that DLR should either eliminate the 2 SoCal passes or at least not allow monthly payments on them. I say that, being a SoCal resident too! That almost seems to be TOO good of a deal (even with the tons of blocked days)! I think they should just have passes that are Deluxe, Premium and Premier.

Well, it will be interesting to see what happens in the next couple of years with the revamped DCA and increased crowds. I will be curious to see if DLR changes its whole AP program structure (which has been rumored) and starts making them either easier than ever before to get or making them more out of reach and unattainable for nearly everyone!

This is so wonderful! I have three trips planned for the next year (so far) and this makes getting an AP even easier. I wonder though, my AP expired in April, would they renew that or issue a new one?

Although I can say that with the new price hike that we probably won't be getting another annual pass after ours expire. They are just too expensive now! Unless I manage to stockpile an even bigger amount of Disney Visa Reward $$, they will be too much for us.
