AP Passes

I am sorry if this has been posted before but it was new to me today so I thought I would share it.

Our friend works at the Disney store and when were at the mall today she showed me the AP passes that they got in.

You purchase them now at the Disney store and then exchange it when you get there at the ticket center or the disney store at the airport.

It was a big purple card (my favorite color) so she said I had to get one. They had both types of AP passes.

She does not get a discount on the AP pass but she does on the rest of the passes.

One small correction -
I bought one yesterday - a birthday gift for my daughter. According to info on the back, it is redeemable only at one of the 4 parks.
We also bought two six day hoppers. Disney seems to have finally got it right. This is a quick and simple way to purchase park passes.

I purchased my AP at the Disney store before I left. The big plastic purple card is still exchanged at Guest Relations for the flimsy cardboard AP.

This is the second time now that I've heard this mentioned. I'm wondering if you can still exchange them at DTD?

Yes you can. The DD Guest Relations offices were never listed in print on any of the other admission media or literature as being able to activate/exchange them there but they have always been able to. And that still holds true.

I was hoping for the current, definitive answer you provided. With so many changes lately regarding the AP rules and discounts, I want to line my ducks up as best I can to avoid any unpleasant surprises.
