AP / PAP Resort Discounts

OK - right I know I have asked a million questions about completely unrelated holiday plans but... here comes another.

If an AP \ PAP can get you discounts on resort hotels what sort of discounts have people got in the past and how do I find out what discounts will be available when i am going?

Is there a phone number I can call from the UK to get a customer relations office who can tell me? or a website where available discounts are published??

a good website to look for AP discounts is Mousesavers. AP discounts on Disney hotels can be significant, up to 40% off rack rates. However, this will depend on a number of things: season, what category hotel you want, how many unsold rooms Disney have to fill. In general the quieter the time of year the greater the discounts, and the more expensive the hotel the greater the discount. It is important to bear in mind that Disney does not guarantee that AP discounts will be available, so be careful if your holiday budget relies on you getting an AP rate.

What we normally do is to book a value resort to make sure we have accommodation for the dates we want, then keep checking the internet to see if AP discounts are announced. This is normally a couple of months in advance. If AP rates become available we can change our booking to take advantage of lower rates (or a better grade hotel). Alternatively you could use the Dreams Unlimited travel agent (which is affilliated with this site) to make the hotel booking for you. They will then apply an AP discount to your booking as it becomes available. There is no charge for this service, and a number of people from the UK (including myself) have used DU with no problems. On our visit in 2002 we saved over $800 on the cost of our stays at the All Stars and the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
