I have several resort stays scheduled but if AP discounts don't return and can't be applied to my resort reservations there is no way I'm paying rack rate to stay onsite when I live 1.5 hours away😆 Does anyone else feel the same way about AP room discounts?

I need another option. We always stay onsite, in a club level room. I have rarely paid rack rate. But I have used bounceback, AP & public discounts. We will stay onsite without discounts, but will downgrade our resort level &/or room type.

I'm on the fence about it. I booked a Feb. 2021 weekend trip (hopefully running the Princess 10k if it isn't cancelled) and booked the Swan because I wanted to be in the EP area and it was SO much cheaper than YC/BC/BWI. We are in "wait-and-see" mode regarding a March 2021 spring break trip. That may be our first family trip in a long time if things ease up on the virus front (we cancelled so many other trips). I may be willing to splurge on that one if that becomes our first family trip in over a year due to covid.

I'm an AP holder from Georgia. If there are no extra magic hours and no fastpasses and no AP discount on rooms, I'm much less likely to stay on site. For a weekend trip, I would very likely NOT stay on site, since for a weekend trip I can live with my 3 measly days of park reservations allowed. I would probably only stay on site at this point if I needed more than 3 park days, since my understanding is that an on site reservation would allow me to book park reservations for length of stay.

Trying to plan a trip in September have been able to book at AP rate at UO. It was a great deal just dodo not want to wait on wdw anymore.

I’m option #4 - I’m fairly certain we’re going to let our APs expire. AP discounts weren’t always available for the dates and resorts I was looking for. We wound up booking a mixture of AP, Bounceback and GP discounts. We really enjoyed our APs this year, but with all the changes, I think we’re going to watch what happens after our next trip (last one with the current APs) and decide what we want to do.

Same here. We're from out of state and this was our first and last experiment with getting APs.

There are other discounts besides AP discounts. The general public discount is okay. Bouncebacks are great. Renting DVC points can work if you're careful.

My AP expired June 7 and while I originally thought I'd do the extension, I decided to get the partial refund as I feel things are too restrictive to make extending my AP worth it. We were booked for Dec under a BB but decided to cancel. We are booked for a long weekend in Oct 2021 for the 50th anniversary, so if Disney eases up on restrictions, I'll consider getting another AP and taking a couple trips within the year. If there are still heavy restrictions next year, we'll probably just go for the anniversary and take a wait-and-see approach from that point forward.

I let mine expire because they got too expensive but I had one for about 5 years with at least two trips a year, some years 3 and only one time did I use the AP discount and that was just for one night when we decided to extend our trip while there. Other times I found the general discount was just as good or I would book through Orbitz and get the general discount and stack Orbitz points with it. Or I stay at Swan/Dolphin for less. I determined my getting an AP strictly on ticket prices since I always got PHs. If I knew how many days I would probably be going that year and the AP was equal to or less than tickets, AP it was. Most of the discounts didn't work for me, the stores I shopped in didn't offer them (Mask shop at Italy I'm looking at you) and for some reason we like to eat at places that didn't offer the discount. I did get TIW one year because I knew my son would be going on two trips with me and we enjoy a refreshing adult beverage or 3 at meals.
