AP Holders can now get MagicBands - but there's a drawback

I have been reading, on and off, that this was coming but just logged in to my MDE to find that we can customise MagicBands for our APs.

However, the drawback is, obviously, they don't ship to the UK. So has anyone got any clever suggestions as to what we can do about this? Apparently the MagicBands won't actually ship until mid March so my first though of having them sent to our hotel to pick up next week won't work.

You'll just have to settle for the grey I think. They lost our customised ones last November and they had to give us some grey ones from the stock. I managed to make it work with some of those jewelled Minnie head stick-ins.

A friend of ours has offered to let us have them shipped to her so problem now solved

But, yes, Disney's answer was that we would just have to get grey bands from Guest Services. Nothing like making the UK resident feel like the poor relative

Great! Hopefully we'll actually manage to pick up our customised ones this year

Our next visit is mid May and we were given the option to customise with our UK address so it will be interesting to see if anything arrives. It also says we have 5 other magic bands to customise (from previous trips) - I'm amazed and rather sad that Disney can't seem to get this right.

I'm watching this one with interest . We fly on 19th April so have mailed Disney support so find out what they recommend.

I logged onto MDE today and saw the option to customise for Annual Passholders. Fortunately we are at Wilderness Lodge in April so I've put that as a shipping address, hopefully it works out.

Strange thing was, when I looked at the magic bands I'd already customised for our WL stay, my DS's band was showing as grey saying that it was unable to confirm information about this guest. I clicked it again and it seemed to re-customise...otherwise it would have been an unhappy 4 year old without his Ben10 coloured band

I have now found the link but i do not have a friend i can have them shipped too.
do we need to get the bands if we have booked fast passes.? can we do that at guest services? do we just turn up with our AP cards ?

They can be shipped to your resort Janet

Hi Elsie we have them being shipped when we are in property but the first 5 nights we are staying downtown. We always do this using avios points to save some of our dvc points.

I like the idea of staggered windows TBH I want some perks for staying onsite

I agree if you pay the extra to stay on site there should be privileges including dvc members.
