AP holder and free dining???

DD and 3 friends have a 5 night trip planned for September, staying at a value resort and hoping for free dining. She is a DVC Gold Pass member and was planning on buying her pass in time to make fast passes at the 60 day mark. I assume with the free dining she will have to buy ticket media ( 5 day pass to cover the fast passes she needs), but will she be able to upgrade the myw ticket the the DVC gold pass while there?

Yes she will have to buy the ticket needed to get FD, and then she should be able to upgrade without any problem.
