AP - free theme park paking?

In the past I got free parking with my AP. Is this still a current perk? Also, if it is and my AP is on my magic band,(I assume there's no more Tyvek AP cards )... How will the parking attendant know I'm a AP holder? Do they have scanners ?

Yes, an AP still gets you free parking t the theme parks. (There are some Florida resident APs that do not include free parking).

You will need to show either the actual AP pass (which you should have received when you activated / purchased your AP) or the AP ID card that came with your AP magic band. AFAIK, the parking attendants do not scan MBs - at least not yet.

You should. We did. If it is not offered, be sure to ask for one. You will need something to show when you ask for an AP discount for a purchase or at a participating restaurant.
