AP/FP+/Magic Band - my confusion continues

I just now realized that I can order MBs as an AP holder. A week or so ago I couldn't, so that's great. All ordered.

Now the MDE site has unlocked the area where I can make FP+ reservations. Again, awesome. And I have played with the system a bit.

Heres the question - if I go ahead and make reservations for this weekend, and the MBs have not arrived, will our park entry tickets still work for our FP+ reservations?

Or do I have to receive and link the MBs first?

(I know I do not have to actually USE the MBs, just wondering if they need to be somehow linked to my AP first.)

I'm an intelligent woman, but all this RFID stuff is not my strong suit!

As long as your annual pass is linked on the My Disney Experience website (look under "MagicBands and Cards" to make sure), you can use your annual pass at the FastPass return Mickey-head readers just like you use it at the Mickey-head readers to enter the park. You don't need to wait for the MagicBands to arrive.
