AP for parking question

Hi
I understand that parking is free with AP. Can anyone tell me what they do to check it? Only one person in our party will have an AP, what if this person wants to rest that day and not go to the park, can the rest of the party use it for parking?

You only need to have the pass with you as you enter the parking lot... they will ask to see it.. sometimes they check the back to see the expiration date.. but they do not ask for a name to go with the pass...

We always just hold ours up as we pull up and they wave us through. They have never even looked at the pass.
