AP Fantasy Blackout dates 2012 - Update 16/3/2012

Thanks Elaine - sorry to ask as I'm sure it's been done to death on here! But, do you have to renew in person within the 30 days? Can you do it over the telephone or anything and then just change your pass when you next visit (presuming you need a new pass with new date etc on it).... :)

Have a look on there from 55 on - you might need to run it through Google but I think you read French so you'll be ok :goodvibes

You can renew in person and also by post but not by internet as you aren't resident in France

Thanks for that Carrie. It does appear that not everyone gets the 18 month offer but I did read you can request it if not :).

Seems a faff sending the pass and photos etc over to DLRP for renewal but if it's giving you 6 months free it is worth it :thumbsup2.

We didn't get a letter and when we went along they said it was rare to receive one :sad2:

Definitely worth it for the price of the stamp and the photos (you don't send the pass over so the envelope won't weigh much) 6 months on each pass, even the free ones get it :thumbsup2

you can't combine the 6 months free offer with shareholders discount when you renew, so thats also something to consider - whether you'd use the extra 6 months over a reduced price pass.

It does and it doesn't :goodvibes

The blackout days that you see up there correspond to any new Fantasy AP that is created in the AP office after the 28th of March 2012.

But......

If you stay on site or in a partner hotel the blackout days don't apply to you and you have entry into the park as if you have normal package tickets, you even get the EMH :cool1:

Thorsten did this in Jan so it's tried and tested so to speak

Hi Carrie - thanks for your reply. But what we've done is book the room for just 2 people but another 2 of us are going to turn up for the old room tax trick. So we won't have package tickets, this is why we are buying APs.
I guess we will both have to get Dream after all, thank goodness you are here so we can factor this into our budgets!

A Fantasy will be enough. You add on the extra 2 people. Everybody gets given the Easy pass so the EMH are covered

You go into the parks showing your Fantasy AP plus the Easy pass to a CM at the turnstiles

It doesn't matter that you are on a blackout day as you are staying in a Disney hotel.

Save those extra €s for a drink or 2 :thumbsup2

Beginning to wish we'd not bought Dream APs now as we bought them thinking we couldn't use Fantasy on the blackout days we are in there in June (according to the CM we spoke to :headache:). Having said that, I suppose as we are doing 2 trips, the money we have saved on the AP RO price this trip, and the money we will save on the slightly better meal / shop discounts will make up for it (plus we managed to get the original 149 euro rate from CE for the passes).

Elaine - I'm not a shareholder. Been thinking about it (I have some share dealing to do in the next few weeks so need to open an account somewhere so was tempted to do at the same time) but as we have APs this year I'm not too bothered if I'm honest. If we decide to go back next year then I may go ahead and sort some out :).

Wow that's great news! What would we do without you Carrie - merci :goodvibes
