Ap discounts?

mindylovesmickey, your suite and all is making me feel faint. If you hear a thunk, I've hit the ground. :rotfl: That goes to the different people thing...at a Westin or something, to me, concierge is worth it. But at a disney hotel...just seems to be food-based. To me, fun as it might be to run to the lounge for a brew, I can't can't do it. Big ol' caveat....once DS hits the preteen/teen years and is eating more than he does nowadays...I'm quite sure those thoughts will change, especially if we have more kids that like to eat!

Believe me, I've looked at the prices a couple of times and felt faint myself :rotfl: . But, we received a very good tax return, and with dh returning to Iraq shortly for a second summer in a row, I really wanted something special. You can believe when the kids and I come back on our AP's while he's gone that we won't be going all out ;) . I went ahead with the concierge because I'm thinking with water and soda for 3 adults and two kids plus snacks, it would make it worth it. And I know dh would love going over to the lounge for a couple of beers once the kids are asleep, and I'm sure MIL won't mind keeping an eye on things, we don't get that kind of opportunity much. And when we go back as a family at the end of the year, we will hopefully get a super good deal at PPH or something like that. So, while what I'm paying does nag at me a little, I'm trying to get over it, lol, and just have fun.

Many California schools are having winter break the entire week of Feb. 18, so I would expect a lot of visitors from Feb. 16 - Feb. 24. We are going to be there with our kids from Feb. 16 - Feb. 20 and since we were given a lot of developer points when we bought into DVC a couple of months ago, I really wanted to use the points for Disneyland Hotel Concierge since I would never splurge for concierge if I'm paying cash. I had no luck at all booking the nights I wanted and that was back in early Decemeber, so I'm not surprised that they are not giving out attractive AP discounts for most nights during winter break week. I'm still happy we could use the points for a standard room though.

I used to go to school in CA and my daughter is in the CA school system and I've never heard of a winter break in Feb?? :confused3 Of course, this is our first year of homeschooling, so I guess I missed the notice  . Dh is going to hate that it's crowded. I guess we'll just have to deal. I didn't get our suite until the last week in December, and I didn't have any problems, but there are definitely none to be had now so I guess I should be glad I did it when I did.
