Ap Discounts

I just called for 5/1-5/6 and was told there are NO discounted rooms at ANY resorts for those dates. Seems they sold out this morning. :confused3
I just need to accept that I'm one of those people who never gets a bargain, I guess.

I would call back and talk to someone else. It seems that different CM's give different info. I think I read that this happened to several other people here this AM and when they called back, they found the discounts.

I booked a vaca for Coronado Springs Resort for May 16-May 26. I called this morning at 7 and they said they could only apply the AP discount to an upgraded room with a king sized bed. I'm not complaining seeing as I still managed to save $200 and get an upgrade...but I would have taken a standard room for a steeper discount! Anyone else find this for these dates for moderate resorts?

I called this morning (around 10:00) and booked CBC for 129 plus tax. I agree with the above poster. Call again and see what happens.

I had the nicest CM ever this morning - Jason. I let his superviser know, too. We were trying to decide between CBC and POR. Jason informed me of food court refurb at POR. It's supposed to be finished the middle of April - but just in case, maybe I should consider CBC instead. I wish the CM's had extensions so we could contact them directly.

I already had a reservation for May 5-13th for a preferred room at All Star Sports. I just called and she switched it over to the AP rate with no problem. My ressie was already paid in full, so she asked if I wanted her to credit it back to my credit card or just leave it on the room as a credit. I told her to leave it on the room so I now have a $226.00 credit waiting on me for when I get there:cool1: .

I just found out that the AP rates for April came out (why did I have to be out this morning) and just had the discount applied to my reservation. Phew!

We'll be at the WL from 4/16 - 4/22. Could only get Courtyard view, not Woods view. Oh well - it'll be fun to stay in a different area of the lodge, right? The CM said we got the last bunk bed room (that doesn't mean someone shouldn't still ask because you just never know!).

Original rate for WL at this time is $345 a night. The AAA rate I had booked us at was $310 a night. The new AP rate is $244 a night. :cool1:

Total for 2 adults, 2 kids for 6 nights (with tax) is $1647. Yeah man! My DH is going to be thrilled. I didn't even hesitate to ask about other hotels (I've been on the fence about trying another hotel). I just booked us in WL and know we'll have a great time! :wizard:

Nothing at all for ASMovies.

In fact, only resorts with AP discount was Coronado Springs and ASSports.

Ok, I currently have a MYW package booked through a travel agent. I figured out it would be cheaper for me to buy one annual pass to get the AP discount and do a room only deal. Can she cancel my package and book my ap rate room only or do I have to book the AP rate directly through Disney myself?

Thanks!

I was out all morning and just saw this afternoon that AP rates were released for my trip dates (May 2- 12). I called at 1:15 and was able to get that applied to the AAA rate ressie I already had at POP. That saved another $114.20 - overall savings of $250.

When I called I didn't give a code but just told the CM I found out more AP rates were released today. He went right to work making the change for me. He was really nice! :goodvibes In fact, I had 3 very nice CMs today - the one changing my ressie rates, a CM in dining, and a CM that booked a tour for us. Thanks to all of the CMs who make the magic begin before we even arrive at WDW! :flower3:

Bummer. Just called (busy today) and no rates for MK Tower now. Daughter just called also and no rates for her WL room either. Sure wish there were since I'm paying for both rooms!!

Just got the Beach Club!

16 may -21 May @ $259 per night plus tax!

I am giddy.:woohoo:

I booked AS Sports for $74/night. Nothing for POP. Now, I'm in the hunt for cheap airfare from Indy. Yippee! A trip to WDW before my trip in August!

I get another trip to Disney World because of the new AP rate that came out today :-D
Star Wars Weekend and Flower and Garden Festival here I come!!!

Will you get a life!

And take me with you.:thumbsup2

One look at your signature and 5 more trips Oy Vey.

Are the AP discounts always this fickle?
For example: Sorry no Poly., having smaller discount for Delux vs. Mods.
Does having a room only ressis help in your ability to get a disc. transferred to you. :confused3
Thanks for the input:thumbsup2
Hey Canadian Guy now is a good time for a dissertation on the virtues of the fickelness of AP discounts.:surfweb:

Well in this case.. having an existing reservation definitely works against you. As noted earlier in the thread by someone way smarter than me about this stuff.

Not much a dissertation eh?

Around 3:30 today I was able to reserve 2 rooms at Pop for $74/night from May 2-7. I guess I got lucky today!:cool1:

ME TOO!:cool1: I made my ressies yesterday, and code came out at 4:00pm today! Saved $83.25 for 3 nights!:dance3: Totally COOL!

I was told AP rate does not apply to BC, YC, or GF...yet I see a few posts above that someone got AP rate at BC. What gives?:confused3

Did you try for the same dates as the poster above?

AP rates are available for some resorts some weeks.. and not others. Unless you specifically said your dates were flexible.. Way flexible going your travel date in your SIG file.. you would be correctly told perhaps they were not available for your week.
