Has anyone ever gotten an AP discount rate on a Family Suite? I know you can't get AAA discounts on these rooms because of their popularity, but I didn't know if other discounts were possible.

DISers have posted in the past that they were able to get an AP discount on the Family Suites.

When they first opened you weren't able to get any discounts, but then last year posts started showing that people were getting AP rates (when available). Here's a post showing that from last year:

Well, in chatting with Disney booking CM today, he said that WAS the case, but now (since around July of this year) he is seeing the suites qualify for more and more of the discounts. WAHOO!!!!!

Just wanted to pass that bit of info along.

And here's a couple posts for April stays (regular season) from this year showing their quote:

Just adding to the list of rates.

We got FW Cabins for April 9-13 at $193 weekday and $208 weekend...this is about what I expected.

I also checked on the ALL Star Music for the same dates and they had the family suites for $195 weekdays and $225 weekends.

I checked a few dates without dining and got the cabins for $188/weekday and $203/weekend. Music suites $195 and $215.

And last year for September stays (value season):

I was probably because the free dining took up alot of regular rooms and the family suites were not part of the free dining, so those rooms were left unbooked. I hope they continue to offer a discount on these suites as they are a great new option. I kept getting $140 a night value rate for the suites for September (before tax).

Can't wait to try them out !

Hope something opens for you! :cutie:

Thanks for all the great info! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a good AP rate. What's the best way to hear when they come out? The boards?

::yes:: Yep, actually usually someone posts that they have heard a rumor that a deal will be out on such and such date, and it usually pans out! As soon as it shows, someone will post on here ASAP with the details.

You can also check the "Discounts" section here on the DIS and watch the mousesavers website (subscribe to their WDW "specials" and get an email notification with any new deals announced sent directly to your email) :cutie:

Good luck to you for a great AP rate on a family suite! :yay:

I am staying in an ASMu family suite in August and have a AAA rate. The rate was $147/night + taxes. I am hoping that when the AP rates are out I will save a bit more.

Yipes! I couldn't get the AAA rate so I'm paying a lot more in Sept.

I too have AAA on ASMu family suite in August. I booked as soon as AAA discounts came out for 2008. I don't think AP will be any better than the 20% off AAA rate.

I was at WDW in January and tried to book the suite with bounceback but it wasn't available. It still would have been 20% but I was thinking maybe I would upgrade. I couldn't just book say the BC and keep my suite but if I could have booked the suite I could call when I got home and upgrade the the BC. I didn't want to rush the decision. I'm glad I stuck with the suite. I'm really excited to try them out!

Not too long ago (maybe 2 months) a friend decided to go with us and she had a pin code. I tried to book the suite with that but again not available. She could book up to 3 rooms with her pin so we could have saved about $50/night if we went with 2 rooms instead. I'm glad I stuck with the suite!

I don't think I'll get any better than what I've got now.

What are your dates? We'll be there 8/14 to 8/28.
