AP discounts for campsites

I was wonerdering if someone could tell me a how much a typical value season discount for an AP holder is at a FW campsite (preferred site). A coworker just told me he called the CRO and was told the AP discount for campsites is so minimal that it is usually beaten by a AAA discount! This suprised me.

It varies, but they are usually around the same as a AAA discount. I would go to Mousesavers.com and take a peek. They always have the current codes and it will give you an idea. They are very stingy with discounts for FW as of late. I have had to pay regular rates the past two Junes because they were not offering AP, or any other rates for the campsites. Good luck!

The same thing happened to me last December. AAA rate was less than AP rate for my partial hookup campsite. I'm really expecting the same thing for my upcoming trip in October also.

I agree, the discounts seems harder to come by. There wasn't a AAA discount available (first time in several years) for our visit (8/5-8/12) so I booked at the regular rate. I called back every 5 days or so and in about 4 weeks a discount was available that I could apply to my reservation. The difference was credited to my credit card. We would have gone anyway but it sure is nice to score a discount.
