AP discounts & check-in?

Hello All

I have been a lurker on these boards for a while - all the info. you can find out is great!!

My question is about how do the dates for the discount rates (like the AP rate) work.

The AP rate available at the moment is valid only til 8/23/03 - so if you check in on that day would the rate go up after the first night or do you pay the discount rate for your whole stay?

I do not want to have to pay for the phone call from the UK to find this out but I am sure some of you here will know!

This has happened to us before....

If you check-in on / before ANY of the dates the AP rates or any other discount are valid for...you get the rate for your whole stay.

Now, if you check in on the 24th of August....you would not get the AP rate.

The AP rate is not like the seasonal rate changes. If you call to book the resort you want may or may not have any AP discounted rooms available. A few years ago the supply of AP rooms were very limited. In other words no the AP rate doesn't extend past the date but I'd call anyway. There might be some other discount you might be able to get.

I agree the AP discount is subject to availability but we did this exact thing last Christmas. I'm not sure what the dates were for the AP rate as far as the actual stay, but I know there were no AP rates available at least after 12/23. I do know that the AP rate had to be booked by 12/19.


We were staying from 12/19 - 01/01. We got the AP rate for our entire stay.

Claire4dpins, you can get the AP rate for the entire stay even after 8/23/03, as long as it is availble. I just reserved CSR and ASMO from 8/13/03 to 8/26/03. However, I wanted ASMO from 8/13/03 to 8/17/03 and CSR from 8/17/03 to 8/26/03 but, I had to do it vice a versa because CSR was not available at the AP rate for the dates I wanted. So, I got CSR from 8/13/03 to 8/20/03 and ASMO from 8/20/03 to 8/26/03 at the AP rate.

I agree with Peachgirl AND Goingtowdwagain....

As long as the rate is available..you CAN GET IT for the entire stay.

We did for the last 2 years. This year , because of a family wedding, we are going a week early. So it does not affect us.

To be honest our trip is most likely to be in September - I was just trying to work out a few possibilties for dates. So I am in the band of people hoping for AP discounts for September ideally!

I appreciate you all taking the time to respond - I know I will have loads more questions to ask before my vacation time comes up!!

Sorry for given old information. Current policy seems to be to allow use of the AP rate if you check in on the last day.

AP rates seem to be very available. A few years a go the number of rooms available for AP (and DC) discounts were very limited.
