How much is the discount for AP holders on resort rooms?

Also, you can't combine that with anything else can you? For example, I couldn't use an AP discount AND a AAA discount, right?

Haha that's what I figured, now I just need to know which is the better discount :)

I'm on the look out for an AP rate for my dates. From what I've read and from lists of historical discounts the AP room discount could be as much as 40%. For my 14 night stay it could work, financially, in my favour.

Let's say the discount was 40%...even after I buy the AP I would still be ahead around $100. Plus, I would save the money that I would have to spend for my park pass.

i recently booked a five night stay at the BC with the AP discount and it was about $600 cheaper than if I would have booked through AAA which was already discounted from the rack rate. I didn't get a package as I have been told that room only is the way to go to get the larger discounts. But obviously in my case it was a no brainer as the AP is only $480 so i came out +120.

I have heard that the break even on a deluxe stay was around 4-5 nights depending on the time of year, mods were around 8 days again depending on the time of year and that the value was closer to 11 days. Again this is just for me as my family will still be getting the magic your way passes since you only need 1AP per room to take advantage of the discount.

I've heard you get a voucher for an annual pass with a Disney wedding. Is there a way where after we sign our contract and all that, and get the vouchers, that we'd be able to use that to book our room? or would we need the actual passes? Is there a way to redem the voucher that doesn't require going to Disney? haha I know you can buy tickets at some Disney stores, does the same hold true for APs?

yes I called AAA and found out what the rate was for the days I was interested in. Then I called Disney and asked the CM what the AP rate was. Once I found out the difference I told her that I wasn't an AP holder but would like to become one in order to take advantage of the discount. She was able to do both for me over the phone. She did explain that I would have to pay for the AP up front and that they would just mail me the voucher. I have the voucher now (which happens to be bright green just like the DIS colors) and they told me I can just validate it when I get down there:thumbsup2 .

Oh ok good.. so I can reserve the room with the AP discount with just the voucher?

Good to know :thumbsup2
