Heading to the World soon. Now, BF's brother and wife might be joining us unexpectedly, but we won't know much, if any, in advance. Do you suppose I would be able to get an additional room at my AP discount just by checking at the counter once we're there? (obviously based on occupancy of hotel/room availability)

thanks!

IF they have a room available, you should be able to do so--but that is a big 'IF'. It is my feeble understanding that only a certain number of rooms per resort are set aside as AP rate rooms--that's why when you call to get a ressie you may be told there are rooms, but not AP rooms at a resort. HOWEVER, if you were willing to move to another resort in the same category, you might have more options.

NO! You have to call and make a reservation. You will never receive a discount at the check in counter. My DDs 18 and 11 and I were staying at Pop and while up there I found out from my mom that my brother and his family had gone to BB for the day and were deciding to stay over for the night at ASsports. I called and spoke with sister in law and told her to make sure they ask for a FL resident rate. They were told that it had to be given by CRO. They then proceeded to hand my brother a phone. It save him about $40. But its usually harder to get AP rates. I would suggest getting BF's Brother to tell you if they can or not, or risk them having to pay a higher amount.
You might even try calling and ask, if I add this room and they can't make it will I pay a penalty if its within the 5 day cancellation window?? You will still be keeping 1 room just possibly dropping the extra room. It worth a shot. Good Luck

Yes like the others said, you can't do it at the counter, but you can certainly go to the phone and call CRO and ask about availability. Then if you can book it it will be honored. We too asked about extending our stay at the discount rate and was told we had to call CRO.

I have done just that. I went over to the Poly once to make a last minute change to that resort and they said I had to go over to the house phone and make my reservation there. Very easy though.

I have gotten AP discounts 1 day prior and even 1 hour prior to arriving before. Depending on the time of year, this can happen from time to time.
