I think that AP holders get a 20% discount from Alamo. If I am wrong, please let me know.

I would like to book a car with this code but all I have is a confirmation number for my AP that I can use to pick up our AP at Will Call. Therefore I have a dilema in making a recervation.

I assume this hasn't been an issue for others. I would like yo know if there is anyway to resolve this problem.

Thanks in advance

If you check in at the kiosk they are unlikely to even check for your AP.

Have you tried to price it with the AP discount? I've found that code doesn't give a good rate. There are other 20% codes out there that you could try, one is for Walmart customers, which obviously anyone could use.

This is true. There are far better codes out there than the AP code. Entertainment, Walmart and Costco tend to give the best rates. Couple them with a two car class upgrade coupon from Entertainment and we can usually get great rates at Alamo.

The AP has to be activated in order to qualify for any discounts. You can't have just a voucher and get discounts.
I will say that I have never gotten a good discount with Alamo using the AP discount.

We have rented many cars while on trips to Florida and I always try to get the best rate - I found that Alamo does usually offer some of the better rates and discounts. I try all the discount coupons, codes etc. and price out the car rentals looking for the best rate. (I usually have several tabs on my internet service open to different deals)
If you are over 50 and an AARP member, usually the best rate for Alamo is through the AARP link. You not only get their discount, but you can use a promo coupon such as free upgrade or dollars off a rental. You do have to be an AARP member to do this and have to supply your membership number to see the rate. What we have saved on one car rental has more than made up for the AARP membership fee.
Also, Alamo does offer specials each week - there have been times where I have booked a car and just before the trip, a special came out. I just cancelled my booking and rebooked.
