AP Discount December?

I've been thinking of planning a trip for Dec 4-11, 2004 for myself and a friend.

I don't currently have an AP, but would consider purchasing one for the discount I could get for a room.

Do you have to have the AP already when the discounts come out? Or could I here about the discounts and then go buy the AP to make my reservation?

Do they usually offer an AP discount on rooms in December?

No you do not have to have the AP when you make the reservation, but you will need it when you check in. In 2003 there was an AP rate offered from 11/28 to 12/26. ~~

As of right now, you don't need to have the AP until you check in, but I have heard rumors that this is going to change. Supposedly, Disney is trying to crack down on who gets what deals, so unless you have an activated AP or buy one at the time of booking, they won't give you the rate. I don't see this being implemented for a while though.

We visited December 6-13, 2003 and it is a wonderful time to go. We stayed at the AKL Savannah view for about $170 a night (tax included). There was no availability at the WL. I was also quoted around $200 for Poly Garden View and $229 for the Yahct and Beach club standard view. Hope this helps!
