AP Discount Card

We will be booking a trip to Disney for late August. A friend gave us a discount card. We will be purchasing annual passes. Is there anyway that we can use these cards by mail so we can get the discount or do you definitely have to be physically at the park to use them?

You have to purchase them in person by July 31. I wanted to order over phone and get vouchers but not an option with the discount. Hoping maybe they come up with something else for later in the year.
