AP/Dining package offer-will it be extended?

First of all, does anyone have an idea of how much the rooms are w/this package and how many nights are required, etc. We're not going until the end of June so I'm hopeful that this offer will be extended but who knows? I've done searches trying to get an idea of how much per night it is w/this package and can't seem to find the answers-any help would be appreciated. Also, if I was to book through Disney w/ a regular rate right now, would I be able to change the reservation to the package for the same room later or are only certain rooms being offered w/this package as they've done in the past? Thanks for any help!

I'm wondering about this too. I can't help wondering if the better deal is still the DDE. We've had good luck with this, but it would be nice to not have to worry about any meals.

Well, we were thinking about staying at BC, or another deluxe, depending on price though we might look at a moderate like Coronado.

According to the historical data for last year (thank you mousesavers!), June featured only AP and Florida resident discounts at some Deluxe/DVC resorts. Those rates come out mid May and were good June 3 to Aug 4, 2007. July 2007 had AP/Florida resident discounts at the Moderate level. Package discounts were offered to the general public in August.

Keep in mind that Value Season at the deluxes starts on July 20th this year.

*This is no guarantee that these discounts will be offered this year. However with the economy tanking maybe Disney will be forced to be more proactive in selling.

Thank you for the reply.-good to know. What I'm really curious to know is what the deal w/the dining for AP holders is-what kind of rates are AP holders getting "right now" w/that package? And does anyone think that the AP/dining package will be possibly extended to June/July?

Nobody can really say unless they work in the Disney Factory. All depends on the demand for rooms or lack thereof.

Historically general public package discounts end in the very beginning of June (thank you mousesavers!). Last year, they ran April 15 to June 2nd. And they were announced clear back January 11th and the promotion closed mid February. So that discount would already have expired this year by now.

There is a separate thread where people are posting their package prices for April/May. I believe a 3 night min is required.

Yes, you can go ahead and book the AP dine pkg. now for your dates, at rack rate of course. Then if an AP discount came out then you can apply that to your room. You may have to change resorts but you could apply it. If you book a room only then you wanted to change that to a PKG then you would have to cancel the room only and rebook as a pkg. If you want dining plan no matter what and you are traveling no matter what then I would go ahead and book the AP dine pkg. No discounts last year but your best bet for a discount this year would be an AP.
