Besides the blackout days, which wont effect my October trip, are there any differences between the Deluxe and Premium APs at DLR?

I see in the benefits list that Premium has a lot more discounts than Deluxe BUT the big question for me is, Is there any differences in the resort discount? And can I use a Deluxe to get the Sunday Saver rate?

Thanks in advance.

I think the main difference is that you get free parking with the Premium and you get a lot of discounts that the Deluxe doesn't offer. The discounts for Disney's shops/restaurants are just 10%, but ours really added up, even over a short weekend trip. If you buy souveners then I think the discount really adds up. If you have the Disney Club card, your Premium AP costs $189, just $40 more than the Deluxe. We figured we saved over $20 on this trip alone, so the difference is almost already paid for.

I am 99% sure that there is NO difference on the room discounts though. Any AP gives you the same room discounts.

The room discounts are the same. Actually for our trip next month, our deluxe AP ends on the second day of our trip but I have already renewed and upgraded to a premium for next year. We felt the added other discounts would pay for the extra $40 or $50 that the passes cost. We renewed by mail and got 2-20% off coupons for just about every store in both resorts and several at DD. We usually return with an expensive collectible or two and we felt the coupons would save us a great deal. In addition, there is a slight chance we may visit close to Christmas this year and if so wanted to sure we had the days covered. If you are only making one trip and won't make use of the discounts, the deluxe will still get you those great room rates.

... for the info.

In the end, I booked the fall fantasy thru DC for my brother and me saving $600 off rack.
We're at the Grand Californian DD view paid for 3 nights got 1 free. Paid for 3-day UHP and got upgrade to 5-day free. As well as the other resort magic things - magic fetaure, lanyards and pins, ESPN card, fastpass etc and some commerative souvenir?. All for the great price of $1050 inc tax.

I know I could probably squeeze more money out if I really really tried but I am happy with this deal. Any comments?

Thanks to everyone for info!

Just an FYI, you can turn in a pass in for a credit towards an AP. We got the Premium AP and we made out on the discounts. It seemed as though we gort 10% off everywhere we went. It added up for us.

... What a bonus!

I figure the difference would $50 tops which means we'd have to spend $500 over 6 days to recover the cost. So question is will we spend $500 over the 4 nights/6 days at DLR?

Lets see we gotta eat and then theres the gifts for Mum, 5 nieces, 1 nephew, 2 sisters, 1 sister-in-law. I'm sure there $500 in there somewhere! :D

Sounds like a plan! Much thanks for the tip!
