We were already booked at Pop Dec. 2-6 with a AAA rate. The deluxe prices are still too high for me since this is supposed to be a "budget" trip, and Pop doesn't have anything at the AP rate. BUT the AP rate is only $4 per night lower. She offered to check All Stars, but there is NO WAY I am going to go stay with the Pop Warner hoodlums. I'll just keep the Pop ressie at the AAA rate.

I thought they were staying at Pop Century as well?! Better check!

I heard from my DU agent this morning and she was not able to get the AP discount for the WL for Dec. 6-13. I do have AAA rates. I have gone to WDW in early Dec. each year since 1992 and this is the first time in about 10 years that I haven't received a very good room discount. This is not counting the first couple of years when I didn't know about discounts. I think the secret is out that this is a great time to go to WDW. In the past it has been nice weather, Christmas decorations and light crowds, but it looks like the light crowds may be something in the past.

Guess we'll find out when we get there.. LOL

What Is A Pop Warner?

I believe it is a huge cheerleading competition. I think it is the first week of December and ends the 9th or 10th. I think that is big reason behind the reduced availability of resort rooms for that week.

Wow! This seems unbelievable! I guess I'll have to check out the Disney Visa rate! If I can get the same # of nights, plus tickets, for less $$, that seems like a no-brainer.

We only got the one day MYW base ticket, since we already have APs, but it still was a better deal. We'll save the one day tickets for later and apply them to the purchase price of new APs once the ones we have expire. Good luck getting a deal!

When she first put in AKL nothing came up. She then put in Beach Club and AKL came up....go figure.

No availibility at GF,Poly, quoted $115.00 a night at CBR

I'm not very impressed with that deal. I have CBR at $110/night with a AAA discount.. I would hope that an AP would bring better benefits than that.

I've heard that Pop Century takes overflow, but that is in direct contradiction to other reports that they don't book groups.

I just received my AP holder email message (a little late). It does say that we are getting the offer one day earlier than others. So I'm guessing that GP discounts might be coming out next.

I guess I just got freaken lucky than b/c I'm at POP NOv 27- DEC 5 and got AP rate applied no problem. I did have a AAA rate room booked.

Actually it's likely because of your check-in date, which is before the blackout date. If you check in before the cut-off, in your case Nov 27th, it should go through okay.

It's not just you, don't worry. If you have one of the higher priced rooms reserved, the AAA discount is larger than the AP discount. It's because the AAA discount is a percentage off the price (in your case, 15%), but the AP discount is a flat dollar amount off. On the higher priced rooms the AAA discount is greater. DH called to see which way we would be better off for our room at the GF sugar loaf concierge, and the AAA discount was better for us than the AP rate.

aaa rate @ CR tower MK view was $432,
AP rate is $388...
AP is $44 less a night.

I was able to save $300 on my 4 night stay at the Poly, but unfortunately I was unable to save any money for my 3 night stay at WL. I wonder if I'll be able to get a discount at WL with a GP rate

I had been unable to book with my travel agent (Leigh at Small World Vacations) because I was getting a better rate via SOG for our YC trip 12/20 to 12/26. She emailed me earlier today to say she had an AP rate of $263 a night and was that better than I had.

Oh yeah. I had booked at $423 a night. Rack rate was something like $539.

I have just saved loads of money that I hadn't even been looking for thanks to my TA.
