We have AP's that expire 2 or 3 days before we check out. At this time I am not planning on getting new annual passes but I am sure the kids will want to go to a park or two those last few days. Can we add a day or two to the passes or would I need to get all new park passes?

I am going to miss my Ap's but can't swing it now.

That is not what I wanted to hear---thanks.

HHMMM-maybe a day at Sea World?

Would be a good chance to check out other area offerings, like Sea World or Legoland if you want to make the drive and your kids are the right age, and like lego things. You could also visit a beach, bum around the resorts, do splitsville, disneyquest, or Cirque.

Is a day at SEaworld, including transportation or parking, and tickets much cheaper than a 1 day WDW ticket?

Depending on the specials going on, it could be. It's also worth it if you already get your Disney fix. We have passes to all 4 Disney parks, Busch Gardens and SeaWorld, and they are ALL fabulous. Busch Gardens has wonderful animals and literally take your breath away rides. SeaWorld has leafy sea dragons (and other marine life I've never seen before)! Baby shark eggs before they hatch that you can see wiggling around in their eggs, almost ready to introduce themselves to the big blue world! It has one of the single best riding experiences I've ever done. (manta) Not to mention their adorable Turtle rehab and Turtle Trek experience. If you want to really hear thrills, One Ocean is stellar (none of the trainers are in the water with the whales, they do the show because they WANT to, and they are extremely power and intelligent. I have heard little girls and adults alike both scream in awe when they jump out of the water. Its just amazing.)

Ok maybe it's time I give Animal Kingdom a break and head on over to SeaWorld tomorrow lol. (Also, this HERE -pointing to self- is a "Documentary"-FREE zone::yes::. I'm not interesting in stirring up controversy. I am a big time animal lover and will formulate my own opinion as to whether exploitation is going on. I've seen all the fish have natural wild behaviors in the aquariums which shows that they are not nervous or ill cared for, and so on...and that park employs FAR more people than it does marine life, so people that boycott it are going to lose human jobs... NUFF said...)

They also are getting fireworks too!

I'll second previous poster's recommendation of Busch Gardens, went there last year for first time in a long time, very impressed with the new rides especially Cheetah Hunt. You can probably get a 2-day BG/SW ticket for a little more than a 1-day WDW ticket. Legoland another good option if kids are younger. If I was going to do a couple of days at Universal, I would want to switch to stay at the Universal resort to get front-of-the-line pass over there.

Sea world is alright. We just did the buy one get one Florida resident AP for $160 about a month ago. Went for a few hours to the empty park, then decided it was time to drive over to Disney lol. It's alright, but it's our last pick out of the amusement parks around

Our Busch Gardens AP expired in December, but we won't get a new set. Busch Gardens is fun for the coasters, but it's a half day park.

If you don't want to buy a day or two ticket for Disney, then I highly reccomend heading to Universal/Islands of Adventure. You'll already be in the area and they're both great. Only park we haven't had AP's too but thinking about getting since we do Halloween Horror Nights every year. Especially now with the Harry Potter expansions and new rides, it's a great place.

Busch Gardens? Sheesh, a half day park...this could get ugly. LOL. We just took friends there on Thursday and we were literally running to the end to get in what we wanted, and we never even made it to Egypt. We busted our can that day, that park is massive! For our new guests (who also had never been to Disney, we took them to EPCOT and did a PolyBeach Fireworks/Monorail/Resorts day. They LOVED Disney, but they were still VERY impressed and had a GREAT time at BG) they were SUPER impressed with Cheetah Hunt, the wife was over the moon for the Iceploration Show (incredible talent and real live animals, which is more than I can say for FOTLK), not to mention my beautiful lovely PERFECT ride SheiKra, crazy Kumba, ridiculous Falcon's Fury, the Lori Landing (lorikeet house, amazing!), tiger enclosure, sky ride, train through the serengeti, the hippos, the meerkats, the lions, we didn't even make it to the gorillas, even we missed a ton of stuff. Sheesh half day describing Busch Gardens and I'm like whhaaa I have the body bugg data to prove it. I think we did about 8-9 miles. I think you may have skipped a ton of stuff. That is a park you could do several days in. Biggest down side is when choosing Tampa or Orlando side, we ended up closer to Disney, which means its an hr drive to Busch Gardens. Its still so worth it. We go anytime we can.

I'm literally I think about the biggest Disney fan that *I* personally know. But there is no denying that BG/SW have a serious edge for thrill rides and amazing animal encounters. AK is alright, but THAT is what I call a half day park. (Safari, Dino, Everest, Kali if you brave the long lines for a quick splash, and major construction walls literally in every direction....)

Its so interesting, I have found both SW and BG to be VERY full. Tampa locals LOVE BG and so do internationals, UK/Brazil etc. They know, just as we do, that the parks offer a LOT of rides and entertainment. Its like Disney people are all snobby about it, and Tampa locals feel the same way about Disney. "I don't go over there, the lines are too long," etc. Or Disney "Busch Gardens isn't for me." Its like a line is drawn in the sand, and the Tampa people LOVE their BG and know its great, and frankly they would like to keep it a secret anyway so they can have it to themselves. There are a few of us FLRs who love both, I met a family in line at a food service at MK a few weeks ago that was from Tampa and has BG tix too. But generally, just as Universal and Disney tend to fued, I've noticed a bit of it as well with BG/Disney as well.

In my opinion, there is one VERY VERY huge advantage to Disney parks, ok two. 1) The FP allows us to book 3 rides that are guaranteed walk-ons or more. Without paying for QuickCue, we don't have that as an option at the other parks. 2) During non peak times, the hours are open much longer at Disney. If SeaWorld would stay open past 6 or 7, we would go much more often after work.

Our area is amazing for the parks we have to offer! There is truly something for everyone! But our international guests definitely have figured out that these are great parks to go to. The others are kind of drawing a line in the sand.

One of these days I'll get over to Universal. But not until they do something about the price. Since I'm personally not going to ride anything Harry Potter related, its going to have to compete pricewise with the other parks. That would leave me Transformers, MIB, Terminator, Jurassic stuff, Minions and Simpsons maybe, and I heard something about a Fast and Furious. But Universal has done nothing to entice us as FLRs, and we haven't been in 10 yrs. We want to go, but since they practically cost as much as Disney, and since we can get 4 parks for their 2, its a loss for us right now for Universal. They need to put out a great FLR before we will take any ticket money from what we already have for BG/SW/AI and AK/MK/HS/EP....
