Quick question .. is this still valid (i received it in an email eight days ago):

Passholders are permitted to book up three rooms
with their pass (based on availability), please keep in mind that you
would need to be staying in one of those rooms.

My aunt booked with her AAA agent, who then in turn called Disney with her there to check availability etc .. the CM said she could not book an AP rate because she didn't have one, even if a relative in the same room had one - which would make the above incorrect. Then, she was told by the CM that all the Dolphin rooms were booked (but the Dolphin site shows AAA and AP rates still available for the dates and has for weeks now) .. I sent an email to Disney but doubt a reply before Monday, and wanted input from the DIS since I'm impatient :confused3

I believe the reservation has to be in the name of the AP holder. So since your aunt doesn't actually have an AP she can't be the one to book the AP rooms. But I could be wrong with this.

One other thing to consider is that you can't combine an AP and AAA discount. So I'm not sure if the problem was trying to mix a(n) AAA reservation and an AP rate.

Nope, she was trying to use the AP for all rates, but I was told when I called CRO three times (just to make sure and checking rates etc) that as long as I was on the reservation, or in the same hotel (didn't have to be same room) that it didn't matter.

I would just book it yourself .

If your having trouble with any TA you have to remember THEY OWN your ressie. Why would you let someone handle your vacation when your questioning what they are stating. No trust no money that simple.

Sorry but some TA even AAA just don't understand what Disney is all about and they don't know what to ask the CM's . The CM's are not going to just give info thats not asked.

Thats the thing, my aunt was right there with the AAA and she doesn't know any better but I told her exactly what to tell them (ie: AP rates, gave her the code and all) and told her if they ask, to explain her sister has the AP and she is on the ressie. She can't go with booking it herself as she doesn't have a visa, and she can pay AAA with cash unlike Disney.

I have done this plenty of times and there has never been a problem. The last time was late April this year. My coworker came in for a couple of days and booked the AP rate in her name and had me on her reservation (the AP holder). We were also staying at Pop. She didn't have a problem at all. Actually last year when she did it, we were staying at a different resort and she had no problem staying a Pop for the one night even though we were not at the same resort. I agree with the other posters, I would book the room myself if you're having difficulty. If you sit around and wait for Disney to answer you, which is not always correct, you may lose whatever AP availability there is left. We have always been told that the AP holder does not have to be the person booking, just has to be staying in the room (or one of the rooms). This use to apply to when my hubby was a CM. The ressie use to be in my name, but the CM had to be staying in the room to get the cast rate. Good luck.
